OPI – Skyfall Collection Holiday 2012 part 2 (swatches & review)
Something about Bond, hits just the right note with me; could be the fast cars (I love speed AND expensive sports cars), the lavish & exotic settings (I love travelling), or perhaps the man himself (2 words: Daniel Craig), but I swear I yelped when I first heard about this collection. That was before I saw the shades; then … I screamed. The very nature of this movie franchise lends itself to over-the-top and totally luscious hues … and as far as I’m concerned, OPI so totally “nailed” it. Cue the opening theme …
The second half of the ‘Skyfall Collection’ (part 1 here) focuses on the deeper and for the most part, sparklier tones. There seems to be a lot going on with this group, from metallic, shimmer, fine glitter, and even some subtle duo chrome flashes at times – with a couple of the shades almost defying description in their complexity. All swatches are with base and top coats.
Moonraker (1979, Roger Moore) – blue tinged metallic silver. The texture of the formula was a bit odd; somewhat thickly flowing with a slight lumpiness (if it was deliberate, then it’s very “lunar” – how appropriate!), you need a steady hand to apply this as it is rather prone to visible brush strokes. The colour itself is really beautiful, looking rather like burnished steel, with 2 coats yielding perfect opacity and note that while it is quick-drying, it winds down with a semi-glossy finish – don’t skip the top coat. Coats applied: 3
in sunlight
shaded light
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997, Pierce Brosnan) – stunning densely pigmented deep indigo, with plum undertones and ultra-fine specks of blue and pink pulverized glitter for dimension. Almost able to pass off as a 1-coater, this medium thick formula applies effortlessly and in a self-levelling way, with no visible brush strokes and leaving behind a wonderfully glossy shine. Totally enhanced by a layer of top coat and absolutely non-staining upon removal. Coats applied: 2
in sunlight
shaded light
The World Is Not Enough (1999, Pierce Brosnan) – multi-tonal shimmery taupe, filled with pink, green, and coppery flecks of ground glitter. The glimmery metallic finish is very unique and seems to hold several layers, although the formula itself is rather on the sheer side. Excellent for layering over a deeper shade for added depth, there’s almost a silvery sheen to its semi-prismatic micro flecks and while the bottle shows an eerie greenish duo chrome in some lights, this is definitely more of a warmer-leaning colour. Bonus: very easy removal. Coats applied: 3
in sunlight
shaded light
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969, George Lazenby) – LOVE THIS. A totally complex pewter hue built on a charcoal base, filled with gold, silver, green, pink, and blue ultra-fine ground glitter. This totally fabulous formula is on the sheer side as well, but reaches a deeper opacity at 2 coats than ‘The World Is Not Enough’. Some lights reveal a rather dark holographic effect with a few random oxidized green-looking flashes now & then, but the overall look is that of a shimmery gunmetal colour – on steroids! Coats applied: 3
in sunlight
shaded light
Live and Let Die (1973, Roger Moore) – a deep pine green shade filled with ultra-fine bronze and emerald glitter in a smokey base. This totally amazing formula offers excellent pigmentation, flow and opacity (it can definitely pass as a 1-coater), a self-levelling finish but not an overly glossy shine – top coat brings out every nuance and gives it a stunning “lit-from-within” glow. While this is a non-staining hue, removal is definitely messier overall than the rest of this collection (so worth the effort though). Coats applied: 2
in sunlight
shaded light
The Living Daylights (1987, Timothy Dalton) – large hexagonally-shaped glitter in tones of copper, silver, gold, and teal – all in a clear suspension base. While the first coat yields a fair amount of the glitter pieces, I found that using a dabbing motion is more effective in dispersing them evenly as well as helping to “thicken it up”, but don’t expect this to be opaque. The glitter pieces themselves lay rather flat, feeling smooth to the touch with a singe layer of top coat, with removal needing some elbow grease – as with most glitter lacquers. Coats applied: 3
in sunlight
shaded light
The following swatches are of 1 coat of ‘The Living Daylights’ layered over a few beauties from the ‘Skyfall Collection’:
The Living Daylights & Moonraker – in sunlight
shaded light
The Living Daylights & The World Is Not Enough – in sunlight
shaded light
The Living Daylights & On Her Majesty’s Secret service – in sunlight

The Living Daylights & Live and Let Die – in sunlight

The following ‘Skyfall’ trailer is classic, gritty, sexy Bond – enjoy!

Final thoughts: Overall, I love every single shade of this collection, although some obviously stand out more than others. The 2 complex shimmery shades of this group, ‘The World Is Not Enough’ and ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ are TO DIE FOR, although the intense blue of ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ is totally eye-catching as well. Glitter is not my thing, but the choice of colours in ‘The Living Daylights’ as well as the larger size of the pieces, makes this an interesting addition here and I found it quite useful in camouflaging any imperfections when layered over ‘Moonraker’.
Stay tuned for my upcoming review on ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’ – OPI’s new 18k top coat, and next week I’ll be showing some other goodies being released with collection. Until then, the entire ‘Skyfall Collection’ is set to launch early October — you don’t want to miss these!

Hi Eugenia! I am sorry to bother you again, but I have a question for you. Do you own any Guerlain nail polish? The reason why I am asking is because I usually buy my nail polish in sale or clearance (with the odd exception of those limited editions by Chanel that are only sold in a store or two, like Skyline, for instance, other than that I wait patiently). Tomorrow Never Dies was on my wishlist, but I managed to get Guerlain Riviera, they look very similar to me, do you own both of them? If so, how would you compare them? Also, how different are Nars Night Porter from Live and Let Die? Thank you very much for your help!***
I’m sorry to say that I don’t own any Guerlain polish, Sonia – sorry! As to the comparison between the NARS & OPI, the former has more apparent green and less of the gold, along with being an overall finer shimmer, while the OPI’s base colour is more pine-green with significantly more gold/bronze, which is also a touch larger in texture. Hope this helps!
Your swatches are amazing as usual. I ended up getting three from the collection (ironically all with die in the title). When I received tomorrow never dies it looked more purple in the bottle than yours did and when I put it on the nail it was way more purple. Any clue on if there were multiple color batches of this? I love the blue in your pictures, but am not really a fan of most purples. Plus, it is very similar to grape, set, match put out earlier by OPI which I also have. Thanks for your help.
Thanks, Bridget! Interesting that the three you chose are all “die” polishes, lol! As to why your bottle of ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ seems to pull more purple, it could very well be the batch; that there is quite a bit of violet in its base, it’s true. Another factor that could be affecting which colour dominates – the blue or the purple tones – may also be your skin tone. One option is to perhaps layer a darker blue or even dark grey underneath to counter any overt “purple-ness”. You should also consider that computer monitors show up colours differently. Other than that, I don’t know what else to tell you but to be honest, it’s a gorgeous shade no matter which colour shows up more!
I have to get these. Like, all of them! Lucky it’s xmas coming up – I’ll just have to make a list and ask each relative for a different one
. I bought all the China Glaze Hunger Games ones earlier in the year and these have a space right next door!
If there’s one collection of lacquers you want all of, it’s definitely OPI’s Skyfall collection – they’re all amazing!
Hi Eugenia,
Excellent review on the Skyfall collection. You always put so much time into your reviews and they are such a treat to read. Thank you. I’ve be thinking about buying this collection (the whole collection), but obviously it is quite a bit to shell out at one time, so I really appreciate your honest and thorough review. I’ve never wanted to buy an entire collection before but this one is pretty spectacular.
Cheers, from a first time commenter.
Welcome, Meghan and thanks so much for the appreciation! Shelling out for an entire collection in one shot, especially a 12-bottle (plus the novelty top coat) collection, is certainly a huge splurge — why not narrow it down to the few shades you absolutely love, then pace yourself for the rest? You can usually tell by the first day of its retail launch, which shades will be the first to fly off the shelves; the ones that move slower, could perhaps be the ones you choose last!
Thanks Eugenia! That’s really helpful advice and I think that’s what I’ll do. I’ll get to work on making my must-have list!
You’re very welcome!
Nearly had heart failure when I seen this collection. OMG the collection is to die for, I had to buy the whole collection including the man with the golden gun. I am one happy lady now!
Congrats and enjoy your new beauties!
I love your blog posts but how in the world do you afford to test all these polishes? I am always buying and testing for friends so I am curious how you do it
Thanks, Erin! While I do purchase many items that I wind up reviewing, I’m also quite grateful to be able to receive other products for review!
Is it just me, or does Tomorrow Never Dies look like China Glaze’s Want my Bawdy? Any chance you can do a comparison? I’m a sucker for blue nail polish, but if they are almost identical, I will save myself the $$!
Thanks!
Hi Sophia! I hate to do this to you, but there is absolutely no comparing the two; CG’s ‘Want my Bawdy’ is not only significantly lighter in tone and more blue/periwinkle leaning next to the OPI, but much sheerer as well. They really are completely different and worth owning both! Hope this helps!
So many intriguing shades! And I’m so excited for the movie!! I only got into Bond during Pierce Brosnan’s reign with Goldeneye. It’s going to be hard to pick from this lot but I can see a few that may come home with me at some point! Stellar swatches and fantastic work as usual, Eugenia.
Thanks, Liz! Pierce Brosnan brought a touch of class to the character that was completely different from the work of the previous Bonds – and made him seem somehow more refined AND more unattainable, but he managed to make him “real” as well. Sean Connery’s take was always a personal favourite of mine — until Daniel Craig came along and brought his own level of gritty intensity to the role. Gotta love the bad boy Bond! As to the shades, let me know which ones you wind up with!
You know, I never go for those plum-blue shades, and initially I passed right by that swatch, but then I just had a vision of it worn on my fingers and I bet it’s fabulous in person! Maybe I’ll switch it up and check it out…? ‘The World is Not Enough’ and ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ are obviously total winners, and I’m actually loving ‘Live and Let Die’ even though I don’t typically like green polish. Overall a fabulous collection, I can’t wait to see them in person! Great swatches, Eugenia
Thanks, Toya! I can’t say often enough how impressed I am with this entire collection. I’m glad you’re being so open-minded about the blue shade; it’s even more complex and hypnotic seen live, being one of the truest indigo shades I’ve come across yet. Would love to see your swatches of these beauties!
I am stoked! Both for the movie and collection! James Bond is back. No more of that depressed and brooding James.
Yeah! I’m so glad to see the “real” Bond, as Ian Fleming intended him to be: slightly gritty and with a dangerous, unpredictable edge….wayyyyyy sexier this way!
That glitter shall be mine!
Hahaha! Love it! And it should be yours….!!!!
i love pierce brosnan so i’m tempted to grab the shades named after the installments he was in and wallet be damned hahaha
Lol…I like your spirit! Personally, I think that Pierce Brosnan should win the medal for the most elegant & distinguished ‘Bond’ – no one pulled that off better!
Great post! I love Live and Let Die, I’ll probably get this one
I am also looking forward to seeing your swatches of the gol top coat and the other goodies!
Thanks so much … I appreciate the praise! Live and let Die is really amazing, especially when you see it on! Working on the rest of the “goodies” as we speak!
i knew it! i knew that moonraker and tomorrow never dies will be kicked out of my polish list, but the other 4 i am so picking it up! Skipping that 18K topcoat too, looks pretty but… just too expensive
and i am so jealous of your nails, the fact that you put on nail polish every so often, and it doesn’t turn yellow! jealous jealous jealous ahahaha
LOL!!! You’re too funny!! Glad you were able to narrow your list!
Thanks for the kind words re: my nails — genetics have something to do with it, but I really go nuts pampering my hands (and feet)!
Live and Let Die is so freaking gorgeous!!!!! The World Is Not Enough looks lovely too. But I’m a lazy bum when it comes to removing nail polish…maybe I’ll grab it. Haha.
I love how these nail polish brands are snatching these “movie opportunities” for nail polish releases. It’s a really good marketing strategy I guess! Kinda makes me want to get a hold of them since I guess it makes me feel like I have a little piece of the movie in my drawer.
& I love Daniel Craig! He’s a great actor and that appearance at the OC of Olympics was so funny. His James Bond are the only ones I saw (probably because I’m too young?!) and they are great. I love Casino Royale the best out of the two. I thought Quantum of Solace was a little “plain” and forgettable. Plus Eva Green makes the prettiest Bond girl of all in my book. (Major girl crush there!!) I also saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last year in movie theater and it became one of my favorite movies. Another major girl crush on Rooney Mara! She’s so fierce in that role. Anyway I’m definitely looking forward to seeing Skyfall now!
Daniel Craig = super hot & more droooooolll.
Lol….you’re too funny, Eileen! Love your quote about how having the polishes is like owning a little piece of the movie – perfect! I missed the opening ceremony (I was on an airplane at the time!), but now I’ll have to google his performance to see it. As to missing out on earlier “Bonds”, don’t worry; Daniel Craig makes the rest pale in comparison! I never did see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo…guess I’ll be adding that to the list!
Live and Let Die is totally freaking gorgeous…you’re so right about that!
I’m just as excited about these polishes as I am about the movie! It’ll be my first Bond movie in theaters, and Daniel Craig (whom I have affectionately dubbed “Blond Bond”) makes it all the sweeter.
I’m crazy about Tomorrow Never Dies; it seems like everything I’ve ever wanted in a nail polish. I’m also one of those weird people who love frosts and metallics, so Moonraker will definitely be coming home with me too. I also love Skyfall and Die Another Day. In all likelihood, I’ll be taking home the entire collection (I even made space for it already) because this theme is too cool to pass up.
Love the way you phrased this entire comment, Jessica…I swear I could feel your enthusiasm! Seeing a Bond movie on the big screen is INSANE!!! Especialy when Daniel Craig is that Bond (for the record, I always thought of Roger Moore as “blond”. although technically he was more sandy). It’s nice to see how there’s a polish here that appeals to each person and I appreciate you giving Moonraker some love! Since you’ve already made the room, well then you absolutely have to pick all 12 up!
I made room for The Man with the Golden Gun, too, but I’m not sure whether I’ll get it. Half of my brain says, “That much on ONE polish?” The other half says, “That’s not a terrible price for 18K gold, you know.” I guess time will tell which side wins!
And I just realized… why call it Goldeneye and not Goldfinger? Did OPI, of all brands, think it was too cheesy?
Lol…why are we faced with these choices? Drives me crazy sometimes….. wait until my swatches are up and then see if that helps you decide!
As to the name, the same thought had occurred to me too; maybe they went with Goldeneye because they wanted to avoid any confusion with CHANEL’s ‘Gold Fingers’? Or perhaps they figured that ‘Goldeneye’ sounded more unique? I doubt any “cheese-y” factor was involved…this is OPI, after all!!!
I have never seen one James Bond but that has not stopped me from absolutely loving the fact that this collection will be released! There’s something very sleek about each shade, and while I don’t want every single one, I appreciate how rich this collection is. Thanks to your swatches, my wish list has grown….a lot.
*slapping my forehead in disbelief* You’ve never seen one Bond movie? Oh Amanda…we need to correct that, lol! You hit the nail on the head: these are totally sleek shades and while I’m sure your wallet may not be happy, I’m fairly sure you will be wearing them!
Glad you liked the swatches!
My friend, you have me so excited for the release of this collection! My favorites from this half are “Live and Let Die” and “The Living Daylights”- I’ve been eyeing that glitter since the first promo pics started leaking! I really love all of this collection on your nails! Bravo <3 You inspire me (and also make me think I should give growing my nails out another shot!)
Awww…thanks, Maribeth! I actually immediately thought of you when I swatched ‘The Living Daylights’ and even wondered what layering combos you’d come up with using that
I cannot wait to see your swatches of these babies!
PS: I just filed my nails down TODAY! Short, short, short…just the way I like ‘em when I want to wear a deep vampy shade (as I’m planning on for my nephew’s wedding this Saturday! )
This has been exciting to see this collection; I know – Get a life! Can’t wait to see this 18k top-coat! I was wondering how alike On Her Majesty’s Secret Sevice/Follow Me on Glitter (Kardashian Kolor) were. Will def be getting World is Not Enough! Don’t have anything like that. Maybe Goldfinger if seems okay for fair skin.
Great posts, Eugenia! Looking forward to the next!
Thanks so much, Linda! I haven’t had time to look for comparisons to any of the shades, but once the dust settles (so to speak), I’ll take a look at what you mentioned and get back to you — based on memory alone though, I would have to say that Follow Me on Glitter is nowhere near as multi-dimensional as On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. I’m guessing you’re referring to Goldeneye, am I right? (I know — it can be a little confusing keeping track of all these names!) — it has this really unique tone to it that I feel will make it wearable for basically everyone.
Working on ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’ right now — hope to have it up real soon!
Wow, part 2 is so much prettier than part 1! I want all of these except “Tomorrow Never Dies” (not a blue fan). Wow. “Live and Let Die” is easily my favorite here.
Glad you liked this second half, Angie! Live and Let Die might be the darkest of the 12, but its inner flecks are stunning!
Her Mag. Secret Service is too rough/chunky looking for my taste. It’s close to FeiFei from Zoya fall 2012 and I much prefer the refined look of the Zoya. I do like the royal blue – Tomorrow Never Dies. That’s a need for me. Over all, I like the red group more. I will be buying 3 from the other half (2 reds and the red/orange) and Tomorrow Never Dies – but none of the rest. I have things that look like this blackend one and the green/yellowed specks are not present enough in most lighting to show up. It would be one of those only I knew as there. The rest of the folks looking would see something but not be able to tell what it is. I am not a glitter fan so not surprised I don’t like the gold glitter from part 1 and don’t like this hex multi in this set. Kind of surprised OPI would do another glitter that harkens back to the glitters from last holiday Muppets that were not well received for the most part. But my guess is that OPI was trying to imitate what has been appearing from the indi world of polish makers this past yr…that’s what this one makes me think of. But I have sure seen a ton of indie polishes I would rather have that are glitter over this one. But again I am not a glitter fan so I have a big bias. You did a great job getting the shots in 2 different lighting.
Thanks so much, Susan! Like I said in my part 1, there’s definitely something in this collection for everyone, right? I’m not a glitter fan either, but I surprised myself by how much I fell for the finished look of ‘Goldeneye’ – reminded me of an open chest of pirate gold, lol! From what I’ve seen online, there is a resemblance of the OPI to the Zoya…guess if you have one, you don’t need the other — depends which one gets picked up first, I guess. As to ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, is not a royal blue but a true deep inky indigo…one of those really hard to capture both in words & with a camera. Let’s just say that you need to see it in person to really appreciate its depth of colour. Glad you enjoyed!
I want all of these!! I think I’m buying the whole collection. On her majesty’s Service is gorgeous and The world is not enough is a surprise favorite for me. I think OPI did an excellent job. Thanks for posting part 2 so soon.
You’re welcome, Monica! They’re all so awesome, aren’t they? I think OPI did a stellar job with this collection!
Ohlala…now THIS is what I’m talking about! Those shimmers and that glitter…gimme gimme gimme! I love how quick out of the gate you were with these swatches, Eugenia!
Hahaha! Thanks, Jess! I’ve had the collection in my greedy hands for several weeks now, but due to certain restrictions, I couldn’t show it before now — but it was killing me to not share these with the world!
I can imagine it must be really hard to receive amazing samples weeks in advance and then not be able to show off your new toys!:)
You got that right! It does give me some time to prepare my swatches and/or review, but I wish sometimes that I could show them right away!
OMG, dying !
Perfect colors, perfect swatches !
I want this collection SO MUCHHH, can’t wait to get these babies in France !!!
Thanks so much! Happy to hear you’re enjoying the swatches from this collection as much as me!
Enjoy your new beauties!
Dear Eugenia,
Another awesome review (the two parts) from you. I’ve mentioned it before, but I really enjoy reading your posts and this was no exception.
Yay, the names are finally simply the movie titles – nice to see this change from OPI. I love the collection, however, The Living Daylights is just not for me. It’s a shame, because that song was written by a-ha, my all time favourite band! I don’t enjoy glitter topcoats; only exception being the NYC Ballet collection when the topcoat had a function – to make all polishes look like ballet tutus -, but this one wouldn’t look good with just any shades. You picked great base polishes for your swatches, but the shade of this glitter is still not stunning enough. I wish they had made a “Teenage Dream”-like dense, opaque glitter, I would have loved that! Oh well.
All the other colours I’m sure I will enjoy wearing, so it’s a bit of a dilemma now whether to pick up the whole collection or skip The Living Daylights… *sigh*
I saw the pre-order price tag in $ on the 18k topcoat… Knowing that here OPI is 13.95€/bottle, that one will be sky-high, so although I know it must be gorgeous, I won’t be spending so much money on it.
And finally, how exciting is this trailer, right? Ahem Daniel Craig… I have developed an unhealthy addiction to his voice, I even watched “Tintin” just to listen to it.
Thank you Eugenia for your awesome work, you are always the first to show the best collections!
Wow, Bernadett…you flatter me – thank you! I have to totally agree about the names; I’m not crazy about some of the names OPI usually goes with for their shades, but I have no complaint here!
‘The Living Daylights’ is a strange bird; I can’t deny the appeal of the glitter and I think the colour combination unique, but in terms of layering, it seems like it’ll be a hard match, except maybe black — then it could wind up looking too “Halloween-y”, lol! The prices you have to pay for OPI – YIKES!!! The top coat will be retailing here in North America for US $38.00 (need to double-check the Canadian price), so I can’t even begin to imagine how much you’d have to pay…
I didn’t know that he was Tintin’s voice…now I have to check that movie out! And his eyes….”wolf-blue” I like to call them….so piercing!
Oooh, “wolf-blue”! You’re right, very husky-like. Makes him even cooler. Hahaha. He looks really awesome as James Bond, he was an excellent choice. I remember hardcore fans saying “Bond not Blonde”, but he proved them wrong!

The Adventures of Tintin was not too bad, actually. But he wasn’t Tintin’s voice, he was the bad guy, so that was more fun.
Yeah, prices are crazy, I don’t even want to think about how much I spent on my nail polish collection. Not to mention the cosmetics… Just wondering, do you know how many nail polishes you have? Have you ever counted them?
Nothing makes me happier than knowing that Daniel Craig did indeed prove all the nay-sayers wrong! Take that! You say his was the villain’s voice in Tintin? Makes me want to see the movie even more now, lol!
As to how much us beauty “addicts” spend on cosmetics, don’t even get me started….! A few months ago and with the help of my daughter, I began cataloguing my nail polishes, but many things got in the way of completing that list; since then, my collection has literally grown overnight — I hesitate to give a number only because I’m not really sure, but something tells me that it’s definitely topping the 4 digit mark now….YIKES! After this weekend, I’ll have a bit more time (once my newphew’s wedding is behind me) so I think I’ll try and get some order here!
I have never seen a Bond movie Big Sis haha! Never really cared to I guess, but these polishes look amazing! Love The World Is Not Enough!
Did you hear a loud THUD? That was me, falling off the couch!! I can understand not having seen the earlier movies, but Lil Sis, how can you not go and see Daniel Craig in full-throttle action?
If we were closer, we’d be setting the date for our marathon Bond-watching session, lol!
PS: I actually though of you and your love of taupe when I was swatching The World Is Not Enough!
Tomorrow Never Dies and Live and Let Die are stunning!!!
There’s such a beautiful quality to those shades — great choices!
Awesome swatches! So glad that someone finally posted them – I like to see good swatches of a collection long before it comes out, so that I can ponder my wishlist & decide which ones to buy – very happy that yours are the ones!
Overall, this collection falls a little flat for me. I really like the shimmers, & a couple of the cremes; The World Is Not Enough, Her Majesty’s Secret Service, & Live & Let Die are all must haves for me. Really digging Skyfall too! I’m not usually a red creme person – they all tend to look the same to me. I figure, if you own one red, you own them all. But I can totally see myself in this red – it’s very almost berry toned & I like that it’s a smokey kind of red.
Debating on Casino Royale, because I do love purplely reds, but it may not be unique enough to my stash to bother with. I really have stepped back from just buying everything I like, to making sure it is unlike something else I already own.
Absolutely DESPISE Moonraker! Ugh! Such an ulgy, & dated color! D: I don’t know how they believed that would look good…Also think Tomorrow Never Dies too closely resembles Into The Night from The Spiderman collex this summer…for me to justify getting anyway. As far as the one glitter goes, I like the unique combination of colors, just not too crazy that they are all the same size…I would have liked to see some microglitter in there somewhere, or even one color being smaller hexes to break it up a bit. Ocerall, as always, lovely swatches Eugenia! You’ve helped me narrow my picks significantly!
Thanks, Katelyn! I always appreciate it when readers take the time to comment – especially as thoroughly as you have here! ‘Skyfall’ took me by surprise as well, but it’s one of those shades that will look amazing on everyone with any look. As to ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, it has a similarity in depth of tone and intensity to ‘Into the Night’, but while the Spiderman version has truer blue leanings, the one in this collection has more of a purple undertone — still, no point in doubling up. I agree that instead of just jumping onto every new shade that comes out, it pays to refine your collection.
Moonraker is a bit of a problem child application-wise, but the colour is almost 3-dimensional looking — I swear it looks a LOT better live, but I can understand your feelings towards it … frosty shades like that can be a little dated-looking at times! Looking forward to hearing what you end up picking from this collection!
Hi, not sure what’s happening but I’ve gotten this email 3 times yesterday and today.
Actually, this post was originally posted in error before it was completed (2 quick blips) — so that’s probably the earlier emails that you received. The last email you got is the actual posting. Hope this clears it up!
Drooling here… again
Lol…sure hope that napkin was handy this time around!!! Glad you enjoyed!
Great swatches yet again Eugenia! I can’t wait to get my hands on these and can’t wait to see your review on “the man with the golden gun”
Thanks, Melissa! It’s easy to swatch lacquers as stunning as these!
I like these, too! Oh man. I also love most of the things in Bonds movies – the gorgeous, exotic settings, the CARS (aston martins. OH yes.), the gadgets, the gorgeous women, the gorgeous man…HAHAHA.
The gadgets! How could I forget to include that? There have been times when I could have used a few of them…
The women are all very enviable (in a good way) and I’m always voraciously taking in their entire appearance – hair, makeup, nails, clothes & especially shoes! The men…ok, so George Lazenby, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton never rang my bell, and while Pierce Brosnan is obviously handsome, he’s just not “manly” enough for me. But The original, Sean Connery (that accent!) and Daniel Craig oozing all that testosterone….that THAT’s what I’m talking about!
