OPI Euro Centrale Collection for Spring/Summer 2013 – part 2 “Moody Blues”
When I first beheld this collection (see part 1 here), I confess that I was immediately drawn to the deeper hues, or what I like to call the “Moody Blues”. Something about blue is just so compelling, and the assortment provided by this grouping, is nothing short of spectacular. With such diverse finishes, ranging from barely-there shimmer, luscious crèmes, and a final touch of whimsy with the glitter, I dare you to not fall as hard for these beauties, as I did!
Once again, each and every shade bears a stellar formula, flowing effortlessly along the nail in a completely self-levelling manner, drying relative fast, beautiful glossy shines at the finish, and leaving behind no staining upon removal. All swatches are with base and top coats.
OPI Euro Centrale Collection SS 2013 – the “Moody Blues” group!
You’re Such A Budapest, Can’t Find My Czechbook, Polka.com
Vant To Bite My Neck?, OPI…Eurso Euro, I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw
You’re Such A Budapest – a muted and cool leaning cornflower/lavender hue with grey-lilac undertones and filled with a surprise: ultra ultra fine blue & silver shimmer. A simply stunning pastel shade in a streak-free formula, the shimmer is not that apparent to the naked eye, but adds a nice dimension to keep this colour from appearing flat – 100% LOVE! Coats applied: 3 (thin)

Can’t Find My Czechbook – a rich Robin’s Egg Blue with some aqua tints in the base, there’s a slight dusty quality to this colour that gives it such visual appeal and makes it suitable for a broad range of skin tones. Superb formula with a mirror-like shine at the finish. Coats applied: 2

OPI…Eurso Euro – a true show-stopper, this is a vivid royal blue/cobalt hue in a crème-jelly hybrid formula with intense colour saturation and an impossibly glossy shine at the finish that makes the addition of a top coat almost superfluous. Its bright ink-blue tones give it a sophisticated yet modern appeal and does not come off as blackened, no matter the lighting conditions. Coats applied: 2
OPI – OPI…Eurso Euro
OPI _ OPI…Eurso Euro
Polka.com – (applied over OPI…Eurso Euro) blue, purple, and magenta mid-sized hexagonal glitter along with blue round micro glitter in a clear base. Best used as a layering polish, there’s a pretty decent amount of glitter dispersal per brush stroke. Some effort will be needed for removal, as with all lacquers of this type. Coats applied: 2
OPI – Polka.com (layered over OPI…Eurso Euro)

Vant To Bite My Neck? – with an unbelievable saturation of colour to this intense purple/grape hue, it can almost apply as a 1-coater, although a second coat adds an overall luxurious depth of tone. With some reddish undertones in the base to lend it warmth, along with its ultra high-gloss finish, this shade is somewhat of a paradox, appearing both vivid & brooding at once. Don’t skip base coat to avoid any mild staining. Coats applied: 2

I Saw…U Saw..We Saw…Warsaw – (the name … seriously?) the most perfect navy blue shade I’ve come across, in an absolutely phenomenal formula – ultra glossy & richly pigmented. A nice twist on a vampy hue, I love how it keeps its deep blue tones visible at all times. Once again, top coat seems almost unnecessary here – nice if you’re in a rush! Coats applied: 2

Final thoughts: Even though each new OPI release is eagerly anticipated, something about the 12 shades of this collection seems to have flown under everyone’s radar; flamboyant lacquers are all fine and dandy, but extravagant shades can only take you so far, and I for one, have been looking forward to getting back to basics: rich, jewelled hues that are eminently wearable, and in formulas that are a pleasure to apply. The Euro Centrale Collection, is ALL that … and more!
The OPI Euro Centrale Collection will be available as of early February. Feel free to follow the brand on facebook/twitter for all updates.

Hello Eugenia,
New follower of your blog….question for you…how does Warsaw compare to Road House Blues?
Thanks for the beautiful photos….makes it so hard to choose!
Hi Traci & welcome to my blog – happy to have you join the conversation! I’m glad you enjoy the swatch photos and I went combing through them just now to be able to give you an idea of the differences between the 2 polishes you mention – ideally, I would swatch them quickly, but I have several in storage & I didn’t want to leave you hanging. In a nutshell, while both are navy blue shades, I would say that Roadhouse is a few degrees deeper in tone while Warsaw is a more vibrant navy and never looks anything other than blue (Roadhouse can sometime appear blackened in deeper light). I’ll update this once I swatch them side by side, but hope this helps!
Thanks so much, Eugenia…that helps a lot…I’m a sucker for blue polish so if there is that kind of difference, I will probably get a bottle Warsaw….it’s a gorgeous color!
You’re very welcome, Traci – glad I could be of help!
Hi, I’ve bought OPI’s “Russian Navy”, is it similar to”I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw”?
Thanks!
I only own the suede version of Russian Navy, which is nothing like its original counterpart, but from what I remember and from online swatches I’ve seen, Russian Navy is a true navy shade with ultra fine & subtle shimmer, whereas Warsaw is more of a crème – no shimmer! Hope this helps!
Geez, thanks, Eugenia, you are truly a professional nailaholic blogger! Thumbs up!^^P
i want them all, it sounds very creepy but you’re nails are very pretty
Thanks, Lee! And it doesn’t sound creepy — I’ll take it as a compliment!
Amazing swatches (as always)! Would really like to know if ‘You’re Such A Budapest’ is at all similar to A-England Guinevere?
Thanks, Debbie! The OPI is more of a cornflower hue with definitive blue leanings, while the a-england falls more in the lavender category, making them both quite different from each other Hope that helps!
OMG I love the Warsaw and BudaPest colours!!
Every single shade of this collection is totally amazing!
Specially love the Polka.com! Love it at first sight 😘
It’s such a fun glitter, without even trying!
The Eurso Euro is EXACTLY like ROYAL from revlon.
I haven’t had a chance to compare Eurso Euro to other similar shades that I own; unfortunately, the Revlon is one I do NOT have, so I wouldn’t be able to say. Thanks for the info, though!
I just love how polka.com goes so well with all these shades! Finally a glitter that can look classy and not just like a kids party
Hahaha! That may the point of glitter – kid’s party, that is – but sometimes it’s nice to find a more sophisticated version too!
These shades are all show-stoppers in their own right, Eugenia! Some of them remind me of shades I own – namely, ‘Budapest’ to Essie’s Bikini So Teeny (though I think the latter is lighter), and ‘Vant to Bite My Neck’ is reminiscent of Essie’s No More Film. Both shades I love! I could easily have all of these though and be quite content
I originally had the same idea about ‘Budapest’ – need to add that comparison to my growing list, lol! Seriously though, OPI has definitely hit it out of the park with this half!
Love the glitter tips! My fave is Budapest.
How similar is Czechbook to Fly from the Nicki Minaj collection? I feel like Fly might be bluer and less teal, but it made me think of it right away.
I actually love the name on that shade: “You’re Such A Budapest” – I mean, it’s funny! Without swatching them on the nail, I can tell you that ‘Fly’ definitely looks more green-tinted compared to ‘Czechbook’, which is closer to a true Robin’s Egg Blue. They have similarities though, but not duplicates.
Your swatches are amazing! OPI did a great job with this collection, I want all of them! I’m such a sucker for blues. I absolutely must have Czech and Budapest. Eurso looks really interesting too.
I agree….OPI really hit it out of the park with these beauties!
Omg!! I didn’t realise you reviewed the second part of the collection already! The shades are gorgeous! I love your swatches sooo much!! This is the first time I’m actually tempted to get like half the polishes from one collection! Yikes, imagine how much I will be spending :/ The colours and formula look really good too. Btw OPI…Eurso Euro is a much brighter dark blue than OPI Dating A Royal right? I’m always afraid of owning duplicates because I’m tempted to buy all the pretty colours haha!
Awww…thanks so much, Rachael! I wish I could help you out with regards to the OPI comparison you asked for, but I’m afraid that I don’t own Dating A Royal, so I couldn’t say
It’s okay! Thanks for replying anyway
You’re welcome!
Your swatches are making me soooo excited for this collection. Czech book looks sooo gorgeous. I must have it and I don’t even care that its going to be my 6th or 7th variation on aqua. Will you have time to do some comparisons? I’d love to see how some of these shades compare. Thanks for reviewing these!
Glad you enjoyed the review, Vivian! I’m hoping to have some time soon to do some comparisons – I’m pretty curious myself!
All of these are simply amazing! These shades are spot. on. perfect. and I have most of them from the whole collection on my list!
Nothing makes me happier, than seeing a collection that not only looks so good, but actually delivers! Enjoy which ever shades you wind up with!
OH GOD. As a blue polish fiend, it’s taking a lot of self control to not put ALL of these on my wishlist. Especially that glitter! Blue and pink glitter! Although, THE NAMES. OPI is killing me with the names. They’re ridiculous! And get worse every time!
No, no, no…..no holding back, especially if you’re a blue lover! I’m such a shameless enabler, lol!
The names…do we expect anything less from OPI at this point?!
Wow….just wow…LOVING this collection more than I thought! I am just dying for Can’t Find My Czechbook!! It’s such a gorgeous robin’s egg blue!
That seems to sum up everyone’s reaction to this collection! Glad you enjoyed the shades!
I like blue nail polish and it is probably what the majority of my collection consists of. Obviously, these are similar yet different enough to own without guilt!
Now, I have a couple of Moody Blues songs ringing in my ears!
They’re all pretty special, am I right?! And speaking of Moody Blues songs, I’ve had “Knights In White Satin” stuck in my head ever since I wrote the words, lol!
I was underwhelmed by the first half of the collection, but these are fab-o-lous! Thank you for swatching! In terms of comparisons, how close would you say Czechbook vs. A-England Galahad; and, Warsaw vs. Chanel Blue Rebel are?
I’m set on getting Polka, Euro and Warsaw – but may hold back on Czechbook if fairly similar. (I stopped biting my nails in September and have around 70 bottles of polish already, erk…)
Thank you!
Thanks! From the bottles, Galahad and Czechbook are very, very close; swatched on the nail, they are definitely different, with Galahad being a touch more opaque and several degrees darker – but still well within the same colour family. Warsaw looks more vivid and blue compared to the more dusty quality of the CHANEL, which also seems to have a bit of grey in the base.
Congrats on stopping the nail biting habit *throws confetti* – nice way you have of celebrating! Love it!
You’re Such A Budapest, I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw & the glitter are my fav’s here
.
Let’s just say that no matter which you choose, you won’t be disappointed!
This is my favorite half of the collection!! I knew I was going to get all since the first promo picture and they didn’t disappoint!
I would love to see some comparisons!! Warsaw (I refuse to write that long silly name haha) and Chanel Blue Rebel? Can’t find my Czechbook and DL On The Beach?
Seriously OPI, what’s happening with the names??? hahaha
Great Swatches as always! <3
I haven’t gotten around to seeing what comparisons I have here for some of these shades, but I intend to. As to the DL you mentioned, that’s one I hadn’t picked up…although I’m still thinking about it….
Thanks for the love, Mara!
The glitter looks very pretty over Can’t Find My Czechbook and I Saw…U Saw..We Saw…Warsaw. I also loved Vant To Bite My Neck? and OPI…Eurso Euro. How do you get so good photos of purple polishes?
Thanks! As to my photos, I’m not doing anything specific; I guess it depends on the equipment one uses and the lighting!
I need them all!!! :/ unfortunately…
Oops….should have posted a “wallet beware” sign!
I’m with you! These shades are absolutely gorgeous and my favorite of this collection. Love the different ways you applied the glitter. It’s so beautiful!!!! I can’t even choose a favorite from these. Love them all!
Thanks, Marisa! I’m not as practiced with glitters as you are, but it’s fun experimenting!
Like you, I LOVE this half of the collection! I think some of these will definitely find their way into my collection.:) Thanks for the beautifully glossy swatches!
Glad you liked them, Jess! Fabulous, fabulous collection!
I adore!! I adore!!!!!! I need to add a few more to my collection… darn your gorgeous swatches!
LOL! These would look absolutely killer on you, my friend!
aw thanks my friend!!! I shall swatch more soon
Hugs!!! xx
Hello Eugenia! Lovely post! I was wondering, how does Eurso Euro compare to Essie Butler Please? Thanks!
Thanks! I haven’t compared any of the OPI Euro Centrale shades on the nail to others yet, but while both are vibrant blues, there’s slight differences in the formula and Butler Please is several degrees lighter in tone. I’ll know better once I get a chance to apply them properly!
After googling swatches, now I realize they are quite different. Eurso Euro is what I hoped Butler Please would look like. Can’t wait for your comparisons!
Thanks!
!!
Will you be doing comparisons with these? In particular, I’m interested to see some comparisons with Can’t Find My Czechbook. Also, does Warsaw have any teal leanings? I love your swatches! I always think I can pass on polishes until I see your pictures. Then, I cave!
Lol…thanks, Hayley! I’m hoping to find some time for a few comparisons, cause I’m also curious to see how Czechbook compares to other similar hues. At times I would swear that I caught a glimpse of teal in Warsaw, but it’s not that evident; this is definitely a true navy!
Love! Especially Eurso Euro and that glitter! WOW! Just wish there was an easier way to remove glitter – such a hassle!
There are 2 ways to remove glitter that won’t have you tearing your hair out; 1) soak pads in remover, place one on each nail & wrap a piece of foil around each – leave on for about 5 minutes, then grab the whole thing and remove – makes it significantly easier. Another option is 2) a peel-off base coat (Essence makes one, which I still haven’t come across) or the alternative 3) white craft glue – paint on 1-2 thin layers of glue on each nail, let dry, paint your nails like usual, then when you’re ready to change polish, simply peel the layers off each nail – super, easy!
Brilliant! Now, of course, I’ll have to go buy polka.com so I can try out all your glitter removal tips. Thanks!!!
Let me know how it works out for you!
Omggg these blues are stunning! Especially love Warsaw, Eurso Euro, and Czechbook looking at your pictures <3 I might just end up with all of them though haha!
I had a feeling that the blues of this collection, would upstage everything else!
Heyy Eugenia great post love the swatches !
In your opinion which of the darker blues is an absolute must have I’m having trouble deciding between the two lol. Also how does polka.com swatch on it’s own ?
Thanks, Leslie – glad you liked the swatches! The two dark blues have only the word “blue” in common; I have a feeling that the shades that sell out first will by My Vampire Is Buff (the off-white) and OPI..Eurso Euro, the cobalt blue. While the darker shade is a stunner as well, it doesn’t carry the same impact as Eurso Euro. As to Polka.com on its own, because it’s a clear base, you don’t ever reach full opacity – unless you were to do about 6-7 coats, lol! Much easier to enjoy it layered over a complimentary base hue!
I see a lot of shades here I’m going to need to pick up…great swatches!
Thanks so much!
I’m having a hard time choosing which I like best! Great post, thanks Eugenia!
Thanks, Linda! Honestly, you’ll be even more confused when you see them in person – they’re all THAT great!
Great set! My top pick is definitely “You’re Such a Budapest”–perfect! I’m thinking I might have to spring for Eurso Euro as well–I have my fair share of darker blue cremes but it is soooo pretty. I like Polka.com as well but I don’t know how likely I will be to wear it–I’m trying to cut down on buying polishes that I don’t wear! But “You’re Such a Budapest”–so dreamy!
I even like the name : You’re Such A Budapest – lol! It’s a keeper, as is Eurso Euro and worthy additions to anyone’s polish collection!
Hi Eugenia
I must confess that I am passing quite a lot of shades and collections this Spring, because they all seem to “Springy”, soft and pastel for me… Despite this are a few colours that I am keen on having (that YSL Jade Imperial and Pyrite will be mine! I want to have a closer look at the Chanel Taboo that will eventually come up). However, I have to admit that I am an addict for anything blue, green or purple when it comes to nail polish and that OPI… Eurso Euro is a shade that I will look for, I don’t have anything similar and I love how blue, deep and vibrant it is, if that makes sense xD Ir reminds of MAC Breezy Blue, but that one leans more towards purple/indigo and the formula is not as good as OPI… Eurso Euro. Your swatches and review are great as usual!
Thank you, Sonia! I don’t have or know the MAC shade you mentioned, but Eurso Euro is absolutely amazing – it’s such a rich & vibrant shade!
Hi Eugenia, this collection looks awesome and your swatches are the first I’ve seen of them! Any way you could include some sunlight photos in your upcoming nail posts like in previous posts? I love your swatches here but I would also love to see these colors and others in the sun. I love your blog and look forward to more posts!
Thanks, Victoria! The issue is that where I live, sunlight is not always there when I want it, and I found myself getting clogged up with backlog waiting – which is why I invested in a couple of OTT lamps that give off a light that simulates the spectrum of natural sunlight. This way, I can continue to swatch & post uninterrupted! Another factor is the cold; I’m not the type to brave some of the bitter weather we’ve been having to go outside for some pictures, lol! Once the weather warms up, however, I’ll definitely be incorporating more natural sunlight photos in my posts!
Eeeee! Lately, I’ve been really diggin’ blue (and red too, can you believe that!?). This couldn’t have happened at a better time- these blues are STUNNING! Seriously, all 12 of these are winners. Beautiful job capturing them Eugenia <3
Thanks, Maribeth! Good to hear that you’re getting out of your “nude” comfort zone cause I’ve always thought that darker shades look awesome on you with your colouring!
I love the blue to green range of polishes and each and every one of these do not disappoint! I can pass on the glitter topper but I seriously want to pick up all the other blues in this collection <3 <3 Lovely swatches, as always
Thanks so much! Happy to hear that you liked them as much as I do!
*nodnodnod* My only complaint is that I have to go to a Ricky’s to get new OPI collections…even for NYC it’s hard to find the new ones out and about
Well, this collection won’t be out until early February, so perhaps you could call around & see who will be carrying it!
Haha you won’t get me with that euro centrale collection
LOL!!!
Since cremes are my favorite finish I’m really looking forward to this half of the collection. And goodness, such gorgeous blues! Another weakness of mine. Gorgeous swatches as always.
Thank you, Jessica – I appreciate it! These are spell-binding, aren’t they? Love them too!
Great post, as always, dear Eugenia!! Your photos are beautiful and your text ist a joy to read! Thank you and greetings from Germany!
What a lovely thing to say, Stefanie – thank you! Greetings from chilly Canada, lol!
While these are all pretty I feel like if I missed out on most of this collection I would not be sad. Unless I missed out on Eurso Euro. Before I saw swatches I knew that would be the one I needed no matter what!
It’s an absolutely impressive blue, and the fact that it’s non-staining makes it even sweeter!
gorgeous swatches i need most of these the turquoise one and Polka.com together is so pretty!
Thank you! I wanted to see how Polka.com would look over a variety of shades, and it turns out that it looks good on everything!
