Ciaté London · Glitter Storm Lipsticks
Following the success of the Glitter Storm Eyeshadow Palette (reviewed here), Ciaté London introduces Glitter Storm Lipsticks: 6 new-technology metallic hues that are super fun to wear, over-the-top cool, and with Christmas right around the corner (yikes!), absolutely perfect for all holiday festivities. Oh and for the record, this brand is Leaping Bunny approved, Peta Certified, cruelty-free, and vegan.
Ciaté · Glitter Storm Eyeshadow Palette
In time for the holiday season, Ciaté London has recently released the Glitter Storm Eyeshadow Palette, and I don’t know about you, but I’m a total sucker for anything with a snow globe effect. It doesn’t hurt that the nine hues of this palette are also sitting firmly in my wheelhouse, or that they wear so well either.
Ciaté London · The Fun Palette
Ciaté London recently introduced 3 new eyeshadow palettes, and I was kindly sent The Fun Palette to test out. This has 9 eyeshadows gathered together, with the upper tier comprised of colours that are so totally outside of my usual neutral-loving comfort zone, but I decided to do what the title says: let go and have FUN. Plus there’s still 5 nude-themed shades on the bottom (and centre) level to act as my safety net … just in case I end up having way too much fun & need some grounding.
Ciaté London · The Fun Palette
The Fun Palette (CAN $42.00) | Made in Italy, the quirky & bold holographic print on the lid opens to reveal a full-size mirror and 9 buttery, silky soft eyeshadow shades (and that includes those with shimmer). I did find there to be powdery kickback raised when swirling brushes through them, but thankfully that doesn’t translate as fall-down on the skin — just make sure to tap off any excess from your brush first just the same. Made with something called Double Dose™ – pigment that’s formulate to blend effortlessly, these eyeshadows can also be applied with a dampened brush for an almost ‘molten’ effect. Applied over primer, the shades all retained their full colour without fading until removed. The shade breakdown:
Top row:
- brilliant cobalt, satin
- grape-tinted purple, metallic
- emerald green, metallic
- fuchsia pink, metallic
Bottom row:
- burgundy, matte
- champagne, metallic
- bone, matte (centre hue)
- camel, matte
- gold bronze, metallic

Ciaté London has been steadily gaining ground here in North America, and with good reason; the performance & quality of the products is excellent, the packaging is lovely and travel friendly, and the range priced affordably enough to be considered accessibly by most. I’m not sure if all the products are available in-store or just online, but I’m impressed enough to want to check out more. What makes The Fun Palette stand out for me, is that Ciaté was savvy enough to mix wearable shades in with the bold ones, and therefore turning the palette that much easier for the colour-phobic (a tad excessive, but definitely applies to me) to experiment with. Then again, it’s only eyeshadow and not permanent ink, am I right?

Ciaté London x Olivia Palermo Satin Kiss Lipstick Collection
Embracing Olivia Palermo’s sharp style aesthetic, hot British brand Ciaté London has teamed up with the model/actress & Creative Director for the brand, to create a well-curated collection of must-have products, including these four Satin Kiss lipstick shades (US $25.00/each).
There’s a timeless and glam old-world feel to the golden lipstick tubes, given a whimsical touch via the small black bow on top (the Ciaté London logo). The four shades have Olivia’s initials etched onto the bullets (for the record, doesn’t the font look exactly like the one OPI uses?). The lipsticks are all unscented and show major pigmentation that’s visible from the very first swipe, with the creaminess factor off the charts; buttery doesn’t even begin to cover it. Rounding things off is an excellent staying power (obviously this doesn’t include eating/drinking) with the deepest shade lasting the longest. Another bonus, is that lips feel wonderfully hydrated throughout the wearing – and long after the last bits of colour have faded. Finally, the finish is neither overly glossy nor matte but a lush-looking satin (which seems to magically make lips look fuller, or is that just me?).

Cashmere | A warm-leaning nude with pink undertones and the obvious palest of the group, application is in reality much smoother than what appears in my swatch photos (I apparently have more than my share of lip lines. Sigh). An excellent hue for those with fair to medium skin tones, but might be too ashy for those with darker complexions.

Truffle | Warm-leaning as well, this shade has touches of coral to go with the pink in the base, forming a universally flattering shade and easily wearable by a broad range of skin tones. Not as editorial-leaning as Cashmere and a shade I suspect will be the perfect counterpart to a dark smokey eye.

Praline | The name alone makes me think of caramel-y sweetness and this shade totally delivers on that score. Still in the nude family but on the deeper end of the scale, this has been THE neutral I’ve been reaching for lately. A lot.

Velveteen | Let’s all breathe a collective sigh at this beauty, shall we? I mean JUST LOOK AT THAT COLOUR. Honestly, with a small army of reds (and all the variations thereof) in my beauty arsenal, I honestly have absolutely nothing with this intense carmine tone. Luscious, velvety and just drop.dead.gorgeous.

I wasn’t sure what I expected to find with these lipsticks, but being blown away wasn’t one of them (although I totally was). Up until recently, my only experience with Ciaté London was with their nail products which are quite excellent, by the way, and I’m so happy to find that their colour cosmetics deliver as well. The only downside? While these lipsticks are available through Sephora, its through the US stores/site. On behalf of all Canadians, I’m thinking that a petition to change that is in order. Who’s with me?

Olivia Palermo X Ciaté London Smokey Suedes Eye Palette
The collaboration between socialite/model/actress Olivia Palermo and British brand Ciaté London, aims to bring an ‘it-girl’ status and style to a capsule collection of beauty products. Filled with shades that Olivia adores and has become known for, the Smokey Suedes Eye Palette has a nice mix of buttery mattes and luminous shimmer shades, with a central neutral hue, Butler, to ground them (true story: Butler was named after Olivia’s dog, Mr. Butler).

Olivia Palermo X Ciaté London Smokey Suedes Eye Palette (US $39.00) | Housed in a slim profile compact with a black faux eelskin lid and elegant gold touches via the case framing and stamped lettering, there is also an oversized mirror on the inner lid to make on-the-go touchups a breeze. The nine shades are [surprisingly] good-sized, making it easy to dip into each one without fear of cross-contamination. The 4 matte shades all have a slight sheen to them that prevents them from appearing flat upon the skin, while the other 5 all display a finely ground shimmer that helps in providing a radiance that won’t translate as excessive. The texture on all is truly silky and suede-like, seen & felt more with the mattes, and while there is some powdery kick-back when swirling brushes through them, the plus side is that I experience no fall-down whatsoever. All shades blend effortlessly, can be effortlessly built up & layered, as well as worn damp for more depth of tone and impact. Excellent staying power, especially when worn over primer.
Top Row:
- Shaken – bronze, shimmer
- Verde – pine green, shimmer
- Whoopie Pie – mauve, matte
- Glazed – rose gold, shimmer
Centre: Butler – bone, matte
Bottom Row:
- Prosecco – champagne, shimmer
- Cocoa – chocolate, shimmer
- Macchiato – mink brown, matte
- Plumberry – currant/raisin, matte

Not sure what to expect, I can honestly say that falling hard for this palette wasn’t one of those things. But I did. Hard, I tell you. For starters, I’m all about the slim profile (easy fit into my makeup bag) and totally luxurious heft (can’t stand cheap packaging), as well as the large size of each shade. The colours of the Smokey Suedes Eye Palette are all incredibly easy to wear – regardless of skin tone – with enough shade diversity to create a variety of both day & night looks. The only downside, is that while available at Sephora, that would be only through the US website, but I’ll hopefully be able to update with more info. If not, I say we get a petition going for all us Canadian beauty fans.
