a-england · Sargent’s Vision

The latest release from a-england is titled Sargent’s Vision, and draws inspiration by works from American painter John Singer Sargent (1856-1925). Founded by Adina Bodana — a woman that I’m so honoured to call my friend, each a-england collection is curated with exquisite detail and has a story to tell, more often than not centred around Adina’s love of the Edwardian era (one of my favourites as well, actually).

Buxom · Plumpline Lip Liner & Shimmer Shock Lip Stick

Buxom has been around for some time now, although it’s a brand I’ve yet to explore — until now, that is, so naturally when these lippies came in I was excited to give them a shot.  Forgetting for a moment the torture I put my lips through when working on a lot of swatches, I can’t resist a chubby stick…they’re just so cute, dammit.

Then I did a happy dance when I realized that they actually WERE paints, but of the wearable variety — not that you can’t sport the other kind (i.e.: real paints, as I’ve done often enough in the past), but trust me … these are way better.

Dior · Metallics Fall 2017 Collection

We may be in the heart of Summer, but that doesn’t mean that the beauty industry is in sync, which accounts for today’s post on Dior’s Metallics Collection for Fall 2017. Drawing inspiration from editorial beauty and the play of light makeup can produce, Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for the brand, has created a collection for the season that’s filled with rich textures, opulent colours, and even a few innovations thrown in for good measure.
