With its storied history to go with exclusive plant-derived formulations, I’ve passed by the luxury beauty counter of Sisley Paris for many years now, and with one exception (a skincare launch I was invited to some time ago), their products have remained somewhat of a mystery to me; then I received a package of goodies to test and after diving in, my main thought was: why have I waited so long to try anything from this brand?

Givenchy · Midnight Skies Collection Fall 2018

 

Inspired by the iconic black dress designed by Hubert de Givenchy that Audrey Hepburn wore for the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the brand’s head of makeup, Nicolas Degennes, created Midnight Skies — a collection that draws on the mystery of a vast star-lit sky coupled with lush jewel-like tones. Or at least, that’s how I see it.

Urban Decay · Naked Cherry Collection

 

Today my blog is celebrating it’s 8th birthday and I even though I have several special things coming up to commemorate this milestone, I thought I’d get down & dirty first … the beauty way, of course. Just when I thought that Urban Decay had taken the whole “Naked” theme as far as it would go, along comes this latest Naked Cherry Collection to prove me wrong. I also happen to have a major weakness for red/berry hues — in particular eye shadows — and from the minute I saw this palette, I just knew it would sit right in my wheelhouse. In case you’re wondering, I was right. So, so right.

Pixi Beauty · Pixi Pretties Collection 2018

 

Pixi Beauty products have been steadily gaining ground in my makeup routine, and as a girl who tends to lean more towards luxury beauty, no one is more surprised by this revelation, than me. Several weeks ago, a package came in containing the Pixi Pretties Collection for 2018 –comprised of the latest collaborative efforts between Pixi and 3 beauty influencers — and I couldn’t wait to crack everything open and, well … play. I’m seriously like a kid in a toy store whenever I’m around makeup and who can blame me when stuff like this comes in?

CHANEL · Eyes Collection 2018

 

For CHANEL’s Eyes Collection 2018, Lucia Pica (the brand’s Global Creative Makeup & Colour Designer), drew inspiration from the magic of the night — in particular the way colours can both hide and reveal themselves, whether under artificial or natural lighting. The interplay of colour and texture is at the heart of this collection, but in my opinion, the true beauty is in how wearable everything is.
