CHANEL · Collection Libre 2018 Maximalisme de CHANEL
“I used my penchant for all that shines to try and reconcile elegance and fashion”
Gabrielle Chanel
For this year’s Collection Libre, Lucia Pica drew inspiration from one of Mlle Chanel’s beloved talismans, the lion — a symbol which represents strength, courage, and even, dare I say, flamboyance (that mane, am I right?). Spotlighting the way interesting new colours can be seen when light & shadow reflects off mettalics, this collection is both bold and elegant … and absolute perfection for the holidays. Be warned, however: everything is limited edition.
Givenchy · Teint Couture Shimmer Powder & Radiant Drop
Givenchy has recently unveiled two new highlighting products, one in powder form — Teint Couture Shimmer Powder, and the other a liquid — Teint Couture Radiant Drop, with both taking advantage of the absolute latest technological advances to create an effect that may be described as “zero texture”, but in my option is infused with a whole of lot of ooh-la-la.
Pixi by Petra · Glow In A Box
One of the latest arrivals from Pixi Beauty, this Glow In A Box is truly well named, as the products it contained were [probably] designed to get you holiday ready … or maybe even visible from space, yes? Sure, everything here is utterly brilliant & sparkly and yet somehow against all odds, these products are also totally wearable. And since there really aren’t any beauty rules, who says you can’t wear shimmer during the daytime — or anytime you’re totally feeling it?
Fenty Beauty · Diamond Bomb & Diamond Milk
For Fenty Beauty‘s 1st birthday, Rihanna drew inspiration from the glittering sheer dress she wore at the 2014 CFDA Awards, creating Diamond Bomb and Diamond Milk — both utterly brilliant products, both in terms of their concept and how beautifully each wears. Oh, and since I began writing this post, all I can hear in my head is “shine bright like a diamond” (so sorry for the ear worm …)
NARS · Atomic Blonde Eye and Cheek Palette
When I heard that NARS was releasing a palette named Atomic Blonde, there was NO WAY ON EARTH that I would pass that up; for starters, it’s all about warm-toned neutrals (my jam) then there’s the name, which calls to mind the movie “Atomic Blonde” starring one of my all-time girl crushes, Charlize Theron. Lastly, NARS had me at ‘blonde’ (ummm…moi). In fact, this may very well be my favourite palette from the brand yet.
