There’s just something about Summer makeup that I can’t resist; maybe it’s because I’m a July baby — but in the case of Dior’s Cool Wave Summer 2018 Collection, I’m going to say it’s mainly because of the collection itself. I mean, Just look at these palettes for God’s sake ∗swoon∗ Inspired by the contrasts between aquatic hues and sizzling sunny days, Peter Philips (Creative & Image Director for Dior Makeup), has basically brought Summer to life with these pieces. CHANEL · Les Beiges de CHANEL 2018

 

In 2013 when CHANEL launched Les Beiges, to say that the concept turned out to be iconic wouldn’t be an overstatement, and since then the brand has continued to add something to the range every year. For 2018, Les Beiges has grown to include new items along with varying tonal intensities — because there really is more than one way to go nude, nest-ce pas?

From the brand that knows a thing or two (more like a bajillion) about beauty palettes, comes Urban Decay’s latest release: Backtalk, an entire rose-mauve theme for both eyes and face … in one convenient package. Inspired by the Vice Lipstick by the same name, this palette is exactly what anyone with a blush-coloured addiction (like me) has been looking for, not to mention a nice departure from the usual nudes.

Givenchy · Bouncy Highlighter

 

In time for Summer, Givenchy has created the Les Saisons 2018 African Light Collection, inspired by the raw beauty of Africa, and the interplay of light on that vast & glorious continent. The star piece of the collection is undoubtedly the Bouncy Highlighter with its intricately embossed design and stunning gold hue, but to be completely honest, I’d probably want it for the name alone.
