Fenty Beauty · Chill Owt Collection, Holiday 2018

It should come as no surprise to anyone, that Rihanna, founder of Fenty Beauty, would come out with a shimmery unconventional colour scheme for the holidays, and the Chill Owt Collection is without a doubt, majorly EXTRA. As someone who tends to stick with a more traditional makeup theme for this time of year, I feel excited to step out of my comfort zone and jazz things up … I may even take my look up a few notches for Christmas (and probably freak out my entire family while I’m at it).

Guerlain · Holiday 2018 Collection

Guerlain’s annual holiday offering is one that is highly anticipated each year, and this year’s iteration is not only gorgeous to look at & perfectly wearable, but also honours a beauty milestone as the brand celebrates its 190th Birthday. With a collection comprising of just a few pieces, they all nevertheless manage to pack quite an impact … done in true Guerlain elegant style, of course.

Dior · Midnight Wish Collection, Holiday 2018

Inspired by one’s “lucky star”, Dior’s Midnight Wish Holiday 2018 Collection (all limited edition) is a makeup lover’s delight. With holiday-themed shades to go with the intricately wrought designs — not to mention the most display-worthy packaging (seriously; just look at those nail polish bottles), everything shown would definitely be a hit gift … just make sure to grab a few items for yourself while you’re at it.

CHANEL · Collection Libre 2018 Maximalisme de CHANEL

“I used my penchant for all that shines to try and reconcile elegance and fashion”

Gabrielle Chanel

For this year’s Collection Libre, Lucia Pica drew inspiration from one of Mlle Chanel’s beloved talismans, the lion — a symbol which represents strength, courage, and even, dare I say, flamboyance (that mane, am I right?). Spotlighting the way interesting new colours can be seen when light & shadow reflects off mettalics, this collection is both bold and elegant … and absolute perfection for the holidays. Be warned, however: everything is limited edition.

Dior · Rouge 999

“I love red; it is the colour of life” — Christian Dior

The year was 1949 when Christian Dior created a lipstick that he would send to his most treasured clients, as a way of thanking them for their patronage. Four years later in 1953, he created 2 shades: N°9 and N°99 (his favourite numbers) that models wore for one of his runway shows. Fast forward many years later, and the House’s by-now iconic shade was relaunched as N°999 in homage to its predecessors, but reinvented in so many wonderful new formulas and textures. Classic, sexy, empowering and absolutely timeless … that’s what red is all about.
