Canadian brand NUDESTIX is basically the adult version of Crayola makeup — and with the same level of fun, I might add. Founders Taylor & Ally Frankel (supported by Jenny, their brilliant mom & creator behind MAC’s Lipglass formula) are two young women who have a pretty good handle on what people want out of their makeup and have created this easy goal: how to simplify one’s beauty routine. Take this “no-makeup makeup box” I received a few weeks ago for example; no tools or assembly required, with the possible exception of mascara. Done & done.
Several weeks ago I was invited to a “back to school” Guerlain media preview to discover several of the brand’s upcoming releases, and today’s post focuses on the newly launched foundations from the Lingerie de Peau lineup, Aqua Nude and Cushion. Both come in formulas that I personally prefer, I might add — but a hunch tells me that they’ll be finding favour with many others as well. Let’s just say that class was NEVER more fun!
The latest addition to the My Burberry fragrance family is the new Blush version and as the perfect accompaniment, the brand has also released a capsule Blush Make-Up Collection. Shades of pink are one of the most flattering and uplifting colours you can wear along the face, providing a brightness that you just can’t get with other tints and while utterly girly, there’s enough earthy mauve touches here to keep things from spinning into frothy territory. Thank God.
For me, there’s few things that are able to take the sting out of Summer ending — one of them being the arrival of CHANEL’s Fall 2017 collection. Taking cues from a California road trip, CHANEL Global Makeup and Colour Designer Lucia Pica created Travel Diary. Inspired by the play of lights & colours on the landscape from earliest dawn to nightfall, as well as the vista from the coastline all the way to gritty downtown LA, these hues capture those fleeting photographic moments … in makeup form, naturally.
CHANEL has recently added to the Les Beiges lineup with new foundations, blush shades, and finally … an eyeshadow palette. The premise behind this range is all about that ‘bonne mine/healthy glow’ effect that doesn’t involve an armada of products to achieve, thereby living up to Coco Chanel’s beliefs of liberating women from anything confining. Personally, with Summer’s heat (and humidity) upon us, I’m all about easy-peasy makeup that will not only look good but require the least amount of effort on my part to get there. Because I can be lazy like that (but still a little vain, if I’m being honest).
