Some of the very first duo eyeshadows I ever bought were from NARS, and they also happen to be shades I still reach for to this day, so when this package of reformulated eyeshadows arrived, I was curious to see how they would stack up to those tried & true faves. There’s a new texture and a variety of finishes to go with new shades; basically it’s all about options … and that’s always welcome.
Bands have been steadily releasing their holiday offerings, and I have a selection from NARS to show you today. Of course, François Nars always manages to add his own unique stamp on things, and this year’s grouping is no different. Drawing inspiration from 70s iconic punk fashion (hence the safety pins & studs), the shades of the Holiday 2018 Collection are all surprisingly wearable and relevant … with a bit of irreverence peeking through via the names, naturally.
NARS has expanded their liquid lipstick game with new shades in both the Velvet Lip Glide and Powermatte Lip Pigment ranges, and is introducing a new player with Full Vinyl Lip Lacquer — glosses so brilliant, you may just need to have your shades handy.
I could have begun this review with a bajillion puns, but instead I’ll get right to the point: NARS’ Orgasm Collection has grown for 2018, bringing you a few new iterations of the brand’s best-selling shade. This may very well be the true beauty version of Multiple Orgasms … (I couldn’t resist).
The final chapter of the NARS x Erdem Strange Flowers Collection, draws your attention to the six lipsticks. Once again, looks can be deceiving because with a couple of exceptions, what you see here is nowhere near what you’d expect. Then again, as this stems from the creative and often eccentric mind of François Nars, maybe it’s not that surprising after all.
