Breakthrough Product: ‘me my elos’ At-Home Permanent Hair Removal System (progress update)
Several years ago when I inquired about starting laser hair removal treatments, I was told that it would cost me an outrageous amount – just under $10,000 in total, to do my underarms, bikini area and both legs (complete) … not to mention an ordeal that would drag out about 8 months +. After I collected my jaw off the floor, I turned tail, ran out of there and decided that shaving for the rest of my life wasn’t so bad, after all!
I couldn’t wait for the day when the price of treatments would drop; imagine my glee when I learned that at-home units were within reach!
Then, the opportunity came up for me to actually test one of these units: the Tanda ‘me my elos’ Permanent Hair Removal System. I confess, that when I received the unit back in late January, it took me another 2 weeks to summon up the courage to try it; I mean, it’s a “frickin’ laser”, after all! But, for the sake of beauty (and the promise of a body hair-free summer), on February 9th I dove in. With a massive amount of skepticism.
EDIT: I need to point out that my description of this unit was not entirely accurate – blame it on my sheer joy at how well it works! Please read the following correction:
“It uses elōs technology, which is the first and only method that combines the power of both IPL (Intense Pulse Light) and RF (radio frequency energy). Typically in salons, they use IPL or laser. The TANDA me is not a laser and it uses both IPL and RF. The result is that it can treat more skin types than other methods, is painless, and requires fewer treatments”
As this is a progress report, I won’t go into all the fine points of using this unit, but let me state that it is ridiculously easy to use, painless, and as I’m almost at the halfway mark of the treatments, I am literally FLOORED by the results I’ve seen thus far. The first 3 treatments have to be performed at 2-week intervals, and in order to properly show any effectiveness, I bravely opted to NOT shave between sessions shudder.
In the above photo, I am showing a sample of hair (from my right calf) with 2 weeks of growth and PRIOR to beginning any treatments with the ‘me my elos’ unit. I know … scary stuff.
About a few days after I performed my 3rd treatment, I was in for a welcome shock: the hair at my bikini area was more than 95% gone. GONE!! And the skin? Baby soft – no bumps, no new hair growing, nothing. Zilch. Treating my underarm area hasn’t been as successful, but that may be because I wasn’t as thorough (more detail on that in another post).
The above photo shows the same area of hair (my right calf again), after 3 treatments and prior to beginning the 4th. I’m guessing you can see the differences, but just in case it’s not clear: significantly less hair, already balding in many areas, what new hair has gown is much thinner & finer, and the hair itself is definitely shorter in length considering it is at the same 2 weeks level of growth. Not bad, huh?!
Final thoughts: I have just completed my 4th treatment, and according to the product intructions, I have 2 more sessions to go – after which I will then use the ‘me’ only as hair appears (for maintenance). I never believed that an at-home unit would actually deliver as effectively as this one has so far, but consider me a convert! I am impressed and absolutely thrilled at the results I’ve seen, and I look forward to completing all treatments. Stay tuned for my final analysis and review of the ‘me my elos’ unit, once all sessions are done. I should mention that this product is only available in Canada for now, but if what I’ve seen is anything to go by, something tells me that women the world over will be beating down the company’s doors wanting in on this! Feel free to visit ‘me my elos‘ for more information.
