The latest innovation from Dior’s Backstage Pros, is Lip Sugar Scrub — or as I like to call it, some much-welcomed lip care, especially at this time of year. Also adding to the Lip Glow range is a new luscious shade for spring, 006 Berry: a product that provides adaptive colour & major nourishment as well. Think of this duo as a lip dream team … pretty ‘sweet’, no?
Lip Sugar Scrub (CAN $41.00) | A gentle lip exfoliating product in stick form, bearing just a touch of rose colour. There’s a soft candy-like scent to the scrub upon initial application, but it dissipates soon after that. The grains are smooth and visible on the surface of the product, but here’s where it becomes interesting. Once applied, the melt-away “concentrated granita texture” helps it to easily dissolve by pressing the lips together, leaving behind a totally hydrated and smooth feel, as dry skin and flakes become easily swept away.
006 Berry Lip Glow (CAN $41.00) | I’m a massive fan of Dior’s Lip Glow formula and pretty much always have a tube in my makeup bag at all times. Past iterations were usually in softer, more pastel-like shades so this deeper Berry hue is a welcome addition. What makes Lip Glow so wonderful (apart from how nourished lip feel throughout the wearing), is its Color Reviver Technology that enables it to react with each individual’s chemistry, thereby creating a unique on everyone. By the way, don’t let the dark colour seen in the tube fool you; it definitely applies much more sheerly, as seen in the swatch.
Regardless of the season, I like to pamper my lips and now with Winter still taking a major toll on my pucker (hello, flaky lips from hell), I definitely want to go the extra mile. Plus, with matte lipsticks still going strong, indulging in ‘good lip etiquette’ is paramount (I’m totally make that a thing). That said, Dior’s Lip Sugar Scrub and Berry Lip Glow makes it pretty easy to create a truly smooth base … done in Dior’s truly elegant style.
