Givenchy · Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm

I was first introduced to Givenchy’s Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm in 2016 (reviewed here) and was immediately impressed — both by its aesthetic appeal and performance. For 2018, the brand has added 3 more shades to the range, something that suits this lip balm-lover absolutely fine. I mean, who doesn’t want options?

Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm (CAN $44.00/each) | Housed in soft pink genuine leather casings that come adorned with the iconic Givenchy stud, each balm is formulated with nourishing ingredients for comfortable wear along with eosin which reacts with your own natural pH levels — and thereby creates a “made-to-measure” hue. The elegant slim profile of each balm makes it not only travel-friendly, but gorgeous enough to want to pull out in public to reapply (or maybe that’s just me … although I doubt that). Granted, their balmy nature means actual wear time won’t be as long as traditional lipsticks, but that’s really not the point; the buttery smooth texture ensures a continuous hydrated feeling throughout the wearing and all leave a light stain behind for a soft pop of colour.

I’ve stated often enough that I’m a sucker for well-crafted details and in that department, Givenchy is a brand that always delivers. When it comes to my lips, I will never be found without at least 3 or more balms in my makeup bag at any given time, and while I have my usual faves, this is the one I reach for and make sure I have with me on special occasions, for all the reasons listed above. My verdict? Well worth the investment.
