Korres · Wild Rose Brightening Power Couple

Face oils are so totally having their moment right now, and while there are several that I’ve personally tried and really enjoyed, the Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil from Korres is the one I refuse to ever be without. Pair it up with the Wild Rose Brightening Targeted Tone Corrector, and you’ve got the makings of some seriously beautiful & healthy skin.

Wild Rose Oil was actually the the first ingredients that Greek brand Korres used in their products and in celebration of its 20th anniversary (actually, more like going on 21 years now), this coveted ingredient has been reformulated in the entire lineup. Working synergistically with nature and using only the finest sustainable organic & fair-trade ingredients, Korres is all about achieving results without fanfare or gimmicks. Yes, my #GreekPride is showing.

Wild Rose Brightening Targeted Tone Corrector (CAN $60.00) | A daily face serum that can be used both day & night, applied directly to skin after cleansing. Made without: petrolatum, mineral oil, silicones, parabens, propylene glycol, or ethanolamines along with being cruelty-free, the star ingredient here is Cold Pressed Wild Rose Oil, a powerful antioxidant whose benefits include:

  • evens skin tone
  • repairs fine lines
  • moisturizes
  • heals
  • softens skin

Coupled with Super C, a stabilized fat-soluble Vitamin C derivative that improves skin’s absorption of Vitamin C by 1000% (yes, you read that correctly: 1000%), it provides advanced brightening and anti-aging benefits. Working to significantly reduce dark spots and uneven pigmentation are Pancratium (a Sea Fern extract) and Sand Lily extract, both of which help improves skin’s overall tone as well.

The convenient pump dispenser easily delivers a good amount of product per use, and I find that one pump is usually enough to cover my entire face and neck. Delicately rose scented, the texture is interesting: silky, dense and somewhat rich, it nonetheless absorbs completely into the skin without any greasy residue at all.

Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil (CAN $75.00) | Housed in a clear glass bottle with a dropper delivery system, this oil is also infused with genuine wild rose petals to provide skincare benefits along with a gorgeous visual presentation, and can be used both day and night after cleansing. The scent is simply heavenly; a true rose fragrance, not the cloying synthetic variety; picture walking through an immense rose garden, and you’ll get the picture. The texture is actually slightly runny and not viscous, helping it to spread easily, although it takes a good 15+ minutes to fully absorb into the skin  — which it then does fully, leaving behind a soft radiance. Along with being cruelty-free, it’s also made without petrolatum, mineral oil, silicones, parabens, propylene glycol and ethanolamines. Key ingredients include:

  • Super C to boost skin’s absorption of Vitamin C by 1000% & help promote collagen synthesis, skin brightening, tone repair, antioxidant protection against free radical and UV damage
  • Camapu, a plant derived extract which delivers anti-thermal ageing activity and anti-inflammatory properties while improving skin’s luminosity

Apart from the fact that I am literally OBSESSED with the fragrance of this oil, I am in awe of the effect it has had on my skin, which is nothing short of helping it look incredibly smooth and even-toned looking. You can also add a drop to your moisturizer for enhanced hydration, or mixed in with your foundation for extra skin protection & a touch of radiance (seriously: add a drop to your foundation and kiss Winter-dry skin goodbye). It’s basically win-win regardless of how you use it … just USE it!

As someone with normal/combination skin (oily in the T-zone), I’m a little late to the face oil party, mainly because I always worried about emphasizing areas that tend to get greasy. Then Korres’ Wild Rose oil came into my life and it was BAM: everyone else can go home. When used in conjunction with the Tone Corrector, they’re a skin-brightening powerhouse — bonus points scored for the divine fragrance. So if you’re looking to give yourself (or someone else) an early Valentine’s Day treat, I couldn’t think of a sweeter indulgence

Thanks for this great review. I had also worries to use face oil but now I will defenitely give it a try. I love to use Korres-Products since 2 years now and my absolute favourite are the Castanea Arcadia cremes. Living in Germany I order my Korres products always in Greek Online Pharmacys which is a lot less expensive than buying here.

I love Korres! But then again I am biased, are’t I? It’s such a natural brand and love the story behind it. These are lovely products, thanks for the review Eugenia!

Well, as a Greek I guess I’m biased too, but thankfully the products all speak for themselves so it happens to be a justified bias in this case!!

What are your thoughts, beautiful?
