With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I suspect some of you may still be undecided as to that perfect gift. Flowers are always a great option, although the blooms eventually fade and you’re basically left with an empty vase. Fragrance, on the other hand, is a bit more permanent and taking the time to select something special for that wonderful ‘mom’ in your life, is always a thoughtful gesture. That said, I’ve rounded up some of the latest launches to give you a helping hand … enjoy & Happy Mother’s Day! ?

It goes without saying that fragrance is highly personal and we all have very different tastes & likes. That said, I’ve opted to list the key notes of each, as opposed to a detailed breakdown — thereby leaving it up to you to choose what feels right.
All four of these fragrances are part of Cozy’s Luxury Division and apart from how lovely the bottles will look on anyone’s vanity, they all have a freshness to them that will make them absolutely perfect for Summer (and beyond).
Miu Miu L’Eau Rosée (CAN $94.00/50 ml) | Fruity Floral: lily of the valley, cassis, musk
Stella Peony (CAN $108.00/100 ml) | Spicy Floral: mandarin, freesia, lotus flower (top notes), rosy pink peony, geranium (heart notes), amber, patchouli (base notes)
Escada Sorbetto Rosso Eau de Toilette, limited edition (CAN 87.00/100 ml) | Fruity: watermelon, mandarin, white pear, red apple, sea salt accords, praline, Tiaré Flower
Chloé Nomade (CAN $122.00/50 ml) | Chypre Floral: oakmoss, freesia, Mirabella plum, citrus accord
New from the luxury fragrance department, these are all once again a fresh composition on traditional favourites. In the case of CHANEL, the brand reinvented one of their most popular scents into 2 new formats: body oil & a scent cushion. All have a classic timelessness to them but still manage to be current at the same time.
CHANEL Chance Body Oil, limited edition (CAN $66.00/100 ml) | pink peppercorn, jasmine, hyacinth, musk
CHANEL Chance Eau Vive Body Oil, limited edition (CAN $66.00/100 ml) | blood orange, cedarwood, iris
CHANEL Chance Eau Tendre, limited edition (CAN $86.00) | Chypre Floral: pink peppercorn (top note), jasmine, iris (heart notes), patchouli, vanilla, white musk (base notes)
Mon Guerlain Florale Eau de Parfum (CAN $119.00/50 ml) | Sensual Floral: Carla lavender (top note), Sambac Jasmine, peony, Paradisone Molecule (heart notes), vanilla, woody accord (base notes)
Annick Goutal Rose Pompon Eau de Parfum (CAN $149.00/50 ml) | Floral: raspberry, grapefruit (top notes), damask rose, violet (heart notes), vanilla (base note)
The three fragrances of this group can possibly be considered as lighter-hearted versions of their older siblings, making them not only as fun to wear, but to look at as well (seriously, the detailing on the bottles is something else).
Paco Rabanne Olympéa Aqua (CAN $118.00/80 ml) | Aquatic: Calabrian bergamot, aquatic accord, petitgrain (top notes), ginger flower (heart note), salted vanilla, ambergris, cashmere wood (base notes)
Givenchy Live Irrésistible Blossom Crush (CAN $113.00/75 ml) | Sparkling Floral: rose petals, peony, cocoa beans, musk
Kenzo World Eau de Toilette (CAN $91.00/50 ml) | Fruity Floral: peony, fizzy pear note, almond blossom, orris
For someone who’s perhaps a bit more laid-back, the three fragrances here not only fit the bill, but in the case of Clean, can also be layered for unique new scent combinations. If you’re at all familiar with Nuxe‘s cult-fave Huile Prodigieux (and if not, you need to get on board as it’s a phenomenal body oil), you can now surround yourself with that iconic scent via this latest release, which is highly addictive, I might add.
Clean Fresh Linens (CAN $95.00/60 ml) | Fruity Citrus: Clean Sheet accord (sounds good, but what?!), Asian pear, clementine (top notes), rain lily, lady orchid, blonde woods (heart notes), skin musk, sandalwood, smooth amber (base notes)
Clean Ultimate Beach Night (CAN 74.00/60 ml) | Fresh Aquatic: Ocean notes (I do love the sound of this, but again…what?!), night blooming jasmine, smoky driftwood
Nuxe Prodigieux Le Parfum (CAN $70.00/50 ml) | Smoky Floral: orange blossom, bergamot, mandarin, orange (top notes), rose, magnolia, gardenia (heart notes), vanilla, coconut milk, pebbles (base notes) — ok, but how is this last one even possible?
7 Virtues Peace Blend Box (CAN $30.00) | If like me, you love beauty with a cause, then you honestly need look no further that the 7 Virtues. Founded by Barb Stegemann, all of the fragrances are created with ethically sourced ingredients and support farmers in conflict areas — as Barb says, “make perfume, not war”. I’ve had the pleasure of trying out several of her scents and have been quite impressed, especially when I learned the what went into the creation of each. Seriously; do yourself a favour and read her story & inspiration — it will amaze you. Now available at Sephora, what makes the Peace Blend Box so fabulous, is how this is a great way to try out 7 of the brand’s fragrances without shelling out for the full sizes. Due to their high concentration of pure essential oils, another wonderful feature is that you can also layer these scents to thereby create your own truly customizable blend. The best part? Knowing that you are making a difference in the world with each purchase — doesn’t get sweeter than that.
- Orange Blossom – mandarine, bergamot, tangerine
- Rose Amber – cinnamon, lavender, sandalwood, vanilla
- Vetiver Elemi – cardamom, cumin, nutmeg, cedarwood
- Grapefruit Lime – basil blend, ambrosial, green tea, petitgrain
- Patchouli Citrus – sweet peony, rose geranium, sandalwood, amber
- Jasmine Neroli – honeysuckle, labdanum, amber
- Vanilla Woods – pear, rose, caramel, warm musk, amber
It goes without saying that all the fragrances featured in today’s post are just a fraction of what’s been released and while I couldn’t show them all (you’d end up reading for a few hours if I had), I feel they’re a pretty good representation of some of the latest to have launched. One thing they all have in common, however, is how gorgeous they are to look at (I am mesmerized by pretty bottles. For real) along with what wonderful Summertime options most are as well. That said, and as a mom, I can tell you that fragrance is ALWAYS a welcome gift!
