NARS · The Orgasm Collection

ORGASM. This one particular word can be so evocative, or perhaps I should say provocative? When NARS first introduced Orgasm Blush, it was like the big bang (see what I did there?) of the beauty world and quickly became THE cult face product everyone needed to have. Fast forward a few years to the present and The Orgasm Collection because as we all know, one is never enough … (I swear, this practically writes itself)

Orgasm Blush, limited edition (CAN $38.00) | If you don’t already own this blush, then where in tarnation have you been? This year’s version comes in limited edition packaging that includes a foil ombré outer box, the name written in pink/peach on the lid, along with a transparent ombré protective plastic liner. The texture is the same as all previous renderings: pigmented, blends like a dream, and displays no powdery residue. Where it appears to differ from previous Orgasm blushes, is in the actual colour with this year’s crop appearing to be slightly less pigmented and leaning lighter hued, along with a more distinct golden/pink shimmer. Down below are comparison swatches of last year’s limited edition (& oversized) version as well as one from the regular lineup which shows the differences in more detail. NOTE: The Orgasm Liquid Blush has been omitted from this post but you can read all about it in detail here.

The best part about this blush, is that is seems to compliment every single skin tone available, and gives a radiance unlike any other shimmery blush you’ve ever worn. Sort of like that glow you get after, well … you know (wink, wink).

Orgasm Lipstick (CAN $35.00) | The lip gloss version of Orgasm has been a bestseller for the brand since the day it launched, but for those who prefer something with a bit more staying power, rejoice: Orgasm Lipstick is here. This shade is that perfect combination of peach/pink with tons of finely ground golden shimmer that totally mimics the blush hue in every way. What’s more, this shade will also suit a broad range of complexions, as it appears to have an excellent balance of both cool and warm undertones. Staying power is actually quite good for a shade in this colour family, while it also provides a hydrating feel to lips throughout the wearing.

All sexual innuendos aside, both of these products are major performers. Orgasm Blush has been a staple in my beauty arsenal for eons and it’s still the shade I reach for when I want that absolutely spot-on radiance. I’m a touch surprised by how different the colour of this year’s version turned out, but the more I play with it (snicker), the more I like it (double snicker) and it turns out you can even layer it over other shades for a whole new look. As to the Orgasm Lipstick, it’s already in my makeup bag and I’ve been steadily wearing it down (triple snicker). Need I say more? Didn’t think so …
