CHANEL · Cruise Marseille 2024/25 Backstage Beauty
The CHANEL Cruise 2024 runway show took place at the MAMO, Centre d’art de la cité radieuse in Marseille, France and was one of the last collections to be created by Virginie Viard, as it was recently announced that she was stepping down as Creative Director for the brand. The pieces drew inspiration from an ‘underwater reverie’, with the makeup doing its absolute best to provide an elevated mermaid vibe — which also happens to look pretty easy to recreate & which I fully intend to try.

Every year CHANEL selects one special location to hold the Métiers D’Art Collection and Manchester, England was the setting for the 2023/24 runway show. With a nod to the mod 60’s vibe and musical heritage of the area, Virginie Viard reinterpreted Coco Chanel’s iconic tweeds with vibrant colour, but you guys know I’m all about the beauty look — and this one is not only saucy, but so easy to recreate. Fun too, I might add.

The recent CHANEL Fall-Winter 2023/24 Haute Couture runway show was all about the quintessentially Parisian woman with her indefinable charm. The fashion was absolutely breathtaking with no detail overlooked (naturally — this is CHANEL, after all), while the beauty was as you’d expect: nonchalantly gorgeous and in perfect harmony with all the runway creations.

The theme for this year’s CHANEL Cruise 2023/24 runway presentation was all things Hollywood, touching on the importance of this iconic Parisian brand in America. Appropriately, it was held at Paramount Studios where the celebrities came out in droves to witness what CHANEL does best: put on one helluva show.
