I am a total fiend when it comes to moisturizing: my face, my hair, my hands, my nails, and especially my body. The first product I ever bought from Korres, was their ‘Guava Body Butter’ back in 2006, and I’ve never looked back since. Occasionally, I’ve strayed and tried out other body lotions, but I always return to this range, as I’ve found that nothing accomplishes the job better than these must-haves. Today I bring you two of my absolute favourites: ‘Guava’ and ‘Jasmin’ Body Butters!
I’m having a hard time trying to pin down the incredible scent of this ‘Guava’ Body Butter; while the front label lists it as being “tropical & sweet”, it’s also warm and almost vanilla-like to me, and I live for those type of scents! A little really does go a long way, and as this cream is fairly thick, you should start with small dabs, adding more as necessary. I found that it takes slightly longer to absorb fully into the skin than more commercialized body moisturizers, but once absorbed, it keeps my skin not only hydrated but almost flexible-feeling for hours. I also swear by this body butter when I’m on vacation, as I find that a day spent at the beach completely sucks out all the moisture from my skin, and this totally replenishes it all back again. It’s also perfect for our Canadian winters, where the cold strips out any moisture right before our very eyes – this body butter is my hero! According to the fact sheet (for both Body Butters):
- ideal for dry elbows, heels and knees
- shea butter and Quince extract have softening, moisturizing and rejuvenating properties
- Sunflower, Almond and Avocado oils nourish the skin, thus helping to improve elasticity & smoothness
In my humble opinion, it definitely does all of the above … and more!

Many years ago when I was seriously (*loosely*) dabbling in the field of aromatherapy, one essential oil that stood out for its brightening and anti-aging properties, was none other than jasmine. Korres’ ‘Jasmine’ Body Butter is not your mother’s scent. Or your grandmother’s, for that matter. It may be a floral, but there are also some warmer notes in there as well that balance out this ultra-feminine scent and keep it modern. A slightly thinner-feeling formula than the ‘Guava’ Body Butter, I love this not only for how my skin feels once it has been fully absorbed, but also for the fresh, yet fleeting scent it imparts. It’s important to know that the fragrance in these body butters is never cloying or overpowering and fade down to the most subtle hints – this way, there’s no fear of them interfering with whatever perfume you layer on top. The convenient flip top cap means no fumbling in opening & closing, and I love how these body butters come with a protective inner seal – this way, you know that your product is kept sterile and fresh. PS: this scent was approved by my teenage daughter – no better endorsement than that!

Final thoughts: I absolutely refuse to use any other body/lotion/cream/butter; that’s it for me, my beauties – I found my “holy grail” of body skin moisturizers in the form of these Korres Body Butters close to 6 years ago, and have been reaping the results of using them regularly since that time. People ask me all the time what I do that makes my skin look so soft & supple, and while genetics are a big part of that, it’s also the fact that I try to always maintain an optimum level of moisture for my skin, and these products fit that bill so perfectly. Filled with naturally-derived and organic ingredients, the philosophy and driving force behind this brand is that if it’s not good for you, then they will not put it on the market. Words to live by … ! Available through Shopper’s Drugmart/Pharmaprix stores (in Canada) as well as Sephora, these Body Butters are a healthy 235 ml/7.95 fl.oz and retail for CDN $33.00/US $29.00
Has anyone else fallen as in love with these body butters as I have? Do let me know!
