CHANEL · Nº5 L’Eau All-Over Spray & On Hand Cream

I’ve always been that girl who has wanted so badly to wear CHANEL’s original Nº5 perfume, but have never been able to — although I’m still holding out hope for a future point where the two of us will see eye to eye. That’s why when Nº5 L’Eau launched in 2016, my prayers were answered: here was a Nº5 version that fitted me perfectly. For Summer 2018, Olivier Polge, the ‘nose’ behind this iteration, has created a fun new way to sport this fresh scent, launching the All-Over Spray and matching Hand On Cream … and I’m betting that both are going to be spot-on perfect for the season.

Launched almost simultaneously with the La Pausa Spring-Summer 2022 Collection (reviewed here), CHANEL released La Comète — a collection inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s first and only high jewelry designs launched in 1932, ‘Bijoux de Diamants‘. Representing Mademoiselle’s lucky number, five timeless themes were chosen, with the crowning piece being the spectacular ‘La Comète‘ necklace. So while I may never be able to own the jewelry, I’m definitely happy to add the makeup versions to my collection.

CHANEL · Backstage Beauty Métiers d’Art Show 2021

Every year CHANEL pays tribute to the virtuoso hands behind all the exquisite details that go into each creation with the Métiers d’Art show, with the 2021/22 Collection held at Le 19M — the new venue where all of the Maison’s artisans are currently housed. Initiated by Coco Chanel herself, this endeavour helps to preserve the incredible skills of several hundred artisans, while also shaping new specialists to further these time-honoured traditions. The beauty look was both avant-garde and timeless … and you can bet that I’ll be trying my hand to recreate it. Wish me luck.
