I have loved the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer since it originally launched years ago, and there are usually several in my makeup bag at any given time. For 2023, Peter Philips (Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup), has reinvented this iconic product via some formula tweaks, but I’m happy to say that it still performs beautifully — maybe even better than before.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer (CAN $50.00/each) | Housed in a transparent acrylic case that bears a stylized Dior logo at the base, each Maximizer comes with a soft-flocked bevelled applicator for ease of application. The new formula now contains 90% ingredients of natural origin, and it’s also infused with cherry oil for superb shine and comfort, along with hyaluronic acid for continuous hydration throughout wear. With mindfully made recyclable packaging, these now come in a variety of holographic and intense shades — the latter providing an incredible amount of colour saturation and pigment, considering their glossy nature. Upon application you may notice a slight tingling effect, but it’s nothing too strong or one which lingers. The original 001 Pink shade has been one of my long-time faves and I can’t begin to count how many tubes I’ve gone through; it not only provides brilliant shine, but I find it even seems to soothe my lips when they feel overly dry. I should also mention that while these are lush glosses, they’re not sticky and have more of a balmy feel to them … in other words, perfection.
A closer look at the shimmer: the tiny glittery bits feel super smooth and never gritty
- 001 Pink – delicate pink
- 003 Holographic Lavender – palest lavender with holographic particles
- 012 Rosewood – sheer nude rosewood
- 013 Beige – sheer nude beige
- 028 Dior 8 Intense – bold brick red
- 039 Intense Cinnamon – pigmented cinnamon brown
I confess to being partial to gloss; their swipe & go nature appeals to my lazy side, and I like how the shine makes my lips appear naturally plumper. That said, not all glosses are created equal and the Dior Addict Lip Maximizers stand head and shoulders above many of their contemporaries for several reasons: they apply beautifully, last well, and have a ton of beneficial properties as well. I call that a win-win-win. PS: these also make perfect gifts/stocking stuffers!
