Back by popular request, today’s post features Guerlain, one of my absolute favourite brands, but I confess that trying to focus on just 5 products was definitely challenging. That said, I decided to go for the pieces that have either completely stolen my heart and/or are the ones I’ve turned to the most … but let’s just say that there’s still so much more I love.

Guerlain x Emilio Pucci Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush | Released Spring/Summer 2012 (originally reviewed here), the pieces from this collaboration are actually the first items I ever purchased from Guerlain (I also picked up the Kajal liner, not shown but previously reviewed here). I have been obsessed with Emilio Pucci prints since I was a little girl and there was no way I would pass up on getting these pieces. Apart from its signature Pucci pouch, the powder is comes housed in a wood composite compact that closes magnetically, and includes a bronzer, 2 blush hues, and a highlighter. Both the blush and highlighter strips are impossible to pick up on their own for individual use (unless you like having stripes of colour along your cheeks), although the bronzer section is large enough that you can pick it up with a brush. Personally, I prefer swirling all shades together as it provides a soft tan hue with a hint of colour, one that looks so natural upon the skin (think: that slight ruddy tone you get before it turns to a true tan). The texture of the powder is actually quite soft and not intensely pigmented, but definitely buildable if need be.
Guerlain x Emilio Pucci Powder Brush | Released Spring/Summer 2012 (originally reviewed here), I couldn’t resist picking up this brush as well and if I’m being honest, it was mainly due to the Pucci pouch it came with along with the unique blue bristles. That said, I don’t actually reach for this brush because while beautiful to look at and well sized, the bristles are actually not as soft as I prefer and I do have many other brushes for the job. Still, the collector in me does not regret the purchase one bit.
Perles d’Étoile Météorites | From the 2014 Christmas Collection (originally reviewed here) I have many Météorites in my collection and in varying colour combinations, but the this is the one I turn to the most. Leaning warm, the subtle golden hues of the pearls compliment my skin tone and as with the original Météorites powder, this too can be applied all over the face to not only serve as a setting powder, but provides my skin with the most incredible radiance. I’m so glad that this one container will last a long, long time because I would probably sob if I were to finish it. Seriously.

Météorites Perles de Blush | Released in 2015, think of this blush as the brand’s iconic Météorites pearls on steroids; way more pigmented, but providing the same ethereal radiance to the skin — along with a nice dose of colour. In fact, the packaging states that these pearls give an “angelic radiance”, hence the cherubs on the lid, and I’d say that sums it up fairly well. The colours of the pearls might look intense, but as can be seen in the swatch below, application is very wearable and can still be layered for more depth. The effect is blush … but with something more, a little “je ne sais quoi” that gives hands down one of the best and totally believable flushes of colour to my skin. This is one product that Guerlain absolutely needs to bring back, add to their permanent lineup, and also add more shades while they’re at it.
Terracotta The Bronzing Powder 03 Naturel/Natural* | Reviewed many times on the blog, I’ve chosen the 2019 version for today’s post, Terracotta bronzers are probably the best on the market and Guerlain was the first to put out a powdered bronzer in compact form. Since its launch over 30 years ago, this product continues to be a top seller and for good reason; the texture is ultra refined and applies so beautifully that it’s almost goof-proof, melding with the skin’s natural oils & warmth to leave behind the most believable finish — one that never settles into fine lines or looks cake-y. Available in several shades to suit a broad range of skin tones, 03 Natural is the one that continuously works beautifully on me and happens to be one of my most-reached for bronzers from the vast options I have in my collection. That fact speaks for itself.
Terracotta Le Parfum EDT*, 100 ml/3.3 fl.oz | Launched in 2014 in celebration of Terracotta’s 30th Anniversary (previously reviewed here), it’s created by Guerlain’s Master Perfumer, Thierry Wasser (my friend!). While “Parfum” is in the name that’s mainly to designate it as the fragrance version of the brand’s iconic Terracotta, as this is technically an Eau de Toilette but staying power is actually quite good, considering. Basically, this fragrance encapsulates summer + an exotic tropical locale in bottle form. Opening up with Tiaré Flower, Coconut, and Bergamot for that immediate “vay-cay” vibe, the heart contains Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, and Orange Blossom which provides a tropical floral softness. Finally, the Vanilla and Musk in the base add some grounding but still retains a creaminess that lingers like a caress along the skin. I believe this is my third bottle already — with a couple of backups waiting in storage, and considering how my scent library has grown these last few years, this is still my absolute favourite fragrance in this family. Originally launched as limited edition, Guerlain listened to the people and brought this back permanently. Honestly, the most compliments I’ve ever received on my fragrance has been whenever I’ve worn Terracotta, but what keeps me loyal is its perfect symphony of notes.
It’s no secret that I adore Guerlain and while these 5 products are some of my all-time faves (I’m lumping in the Emilio Pucci brush with the matching powder because the two need to be together and so I’m counting them as one), I have so many more that I also adore — includes skincare. What I love about posts like this, is that the memories I have with each of these pieces is another facet as to what makes them so special for me, and thus the pleasure I get from using them increases exponentially. Plus let’s face it, when your beauty collection grows out of control (don’t send help), it’s nice to get reacquainted with past treasures!
