Rescue Beauty Lounge – Housewives of Tudor England ‘Jane’
And finally…..my review on the last shade of this superb collection! When I initially received these colours, I admit to having spent a good chunk of my time simply admiring them, but my eye kept on coming back to ‘Jane’. Even though every brand this season has come out with their own version of taupe and/or nude-beige, Jane still stands out among them all. In the bottle you can just make out the exceptionally fine particles of gold and pale green shimmer however on the nail it translates into more of a creme look. Click to view a closeup of the shimmer.
Apart from the neutrality of this colour making it suitable for wearing at any time, it also happens to be so incredibly flattering to your hands. It is that understated greigey (grey & beige!) shade but what keeps this from being scary are the hints of peach undertones. In a more daytime light, it has an almost pale mauve caste to it, giving it a warmer more mushroom tone. Under artificial lighting, it takes on a more grey hue lending it a slightly deeper coolness. Have I used enough colourful metaphors yet?! Seriously, I absolutely am in love with this colour….no wonder it’s already become a best-seller!
Application was excellent and almost self-levelling and from the four in the set, I would say that this shade has the most shine to it. All pictures are with base coat, 2 coats of polish and finished with Seche Vite top coat. From the diverse selection of shades that Rescue Beauty offers, this one should top your list!

Rescue Beauty Lounge “Housewives of Tudor England” Collection
Rescue Beauty Lounge’s Housewives of Tudor England Collection is in a word….stunning! Last Thursday the collection went on sale online at rescuebeauty.com and I jumped all over it. This is my first foray with using this line and while I have heard many wonderful things about these products for years now, I guess the fact that I had to order them online versus seeing & trying them out in person, had been deterring me. I was more than pleasantly surprised at my online ordering experience with Rescue Beauty Lounge; I placed the order Thursday, September 23rd and received the polishes on Tuesday the 28th, basically within 3 days if you exclude the 25th & 26th which were the weekend and don’t count as true shipping days, and all this coming from New York to Montreal! Amazing! The polishes came wrapped in Rescue Beauty’s signature tissue paper with 2 layers of bubble wrap over that for added protection and placed securely in a cardboard box. Everything arrived timely and intact, in pristine condition. For those of you unfamiliar with this line, I urge you to check out their website as the colours are not only unique and stunning, but made free from all harmful additives. The line is priced within the acceptable norm of high-end department store brands such as Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Dior, but above MAC, Essie or OPI. These polishes retail for US $18.00 each for o.4 fl.oz, but in my opinion are well worth the splurge just for the ease of application, shine and durability, not to mention the totally unique colour range.
Now, on to the polishes!!
