Award Tag!

The other day, I was tagged for a blogger award by the ever witty Liz of Beauty Reductionista, and while I’ve seen these awards crop up from time to time, I never really knew what one does with them! It’s my understanding that being tagged by a fellow blogger, is a way of getting to know each other a bit better, while also sending out a bit of recognition towards one another. Sooooo….I couldn’t really think of 10 interesting facts about myself (pretty sad, I know) and I didn’t want to bore anyone with my life story either, therefore like Liz has done, I’ve shortened my list to 5 facts as well.

I am a car freak. Seriously. I love sports cars in particular and while I’ve never taken an official “race driving course”, I bet I can hold my own if I had to in an impromptu race. I can also drive a high performance stick-shift car while wearing 5″ stiletto heels. I’d like to see Lewis Hamilton do that!
I am a book nut; if you ever lose me in a mall, you can be sure that if it’s not the beauty counter of some store or another, you will finally locate me wherever the books & magazines are. I’m a voracious reader and I love reading my favourite books over and over again (with appropriate time spans in between, of course!).
I can literally spend hours choosing the exact right card and wrapping paper/bow for someone’s gift. I need it to match the entire concept from the item itself, to the person’s personality all the way to the occasion. It drives my husband crazy as his philosophy is “why go to such lengths if the recipient will tear it all apart in 3 nano-seconds anyway?” to which I have no decent reply. Because it’s pretty?
I love animals, have always loved animals and am a total “pet person”. Beginning with my first tabby that I had back when I was very young, I created my own ‘language’ for my pets which has evolved over the years and I continue to add nuances to it (my dog at present always responds to this language…or at least he pretends to) and now my daughter has picked it up as well, and has incorporated certain words in her daily vernacular! Some of her friends have adopted parts of the ‘language’ and use them often, without knowing why…they just think it works!
I. Love. The. Beach. Being a water sign (Cancer) might have something to do with that obsession, but the only time I am beyond 100% relaxed and at complete peace with the cosmos, is when I am at the beach, watching the ever changing pattern of the waves crashing to the shore and listening to the hypnotic and eternal music of the ocean. When I’m back home (in non-beach Montreal), the scent of tanning oils/lotions can put me in a rapturous trance. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want to be at the beach where you can legally ogle buff, tanned lifeguards?!

Ok….so that’s a wee glimpse into parts of who I am, and I now pass the baton along to 5 other ridiculously talented, charming, witty and interesting fellow bloggers! By the way, there’s no pressure to respond to this tag, ladies…but I’d personally love to know more about y’all!
