Burberry | London With Love Blush Highlighter (Limited Edition)

For Summer 2016, Burberry has released the London with Love Collection, including this adorable new blush/highlighter duo (CAN $72.00/limited edition) that’s grabbing the lion’s share of attention. Housed in the brand’s gunmetal packaging with the iconic plaid pattern etched onto the cover, the fun first begins with the whimsical heart design on the outer plastic sleeve, echoed on the powder’s surface as well. With a velour pouch for protection and accompanying natural-bristled brush (useful for travel or on-the-go touch ups, but I still prefer using my own brushes), the compact also has a magnetic closure that snaps shut securely.

Apart from the gorgeous detailing of the heart, the next thing you’ll notice upon opening the compact is the fragrance; while really lovely, it also happens to be quite strong so those with sensitivities should take note – but on the plus side, it does dissipate fairly quickly after application. Each section is large enough that you can grab either colour easily with your brush for separate application, although I also like swirling the two together to create a unique new luminous blush shade. The texture of the power is really stunning; incredibly fine-milled and with a very complex shimmer that seems to lend the finish depth and a gorgeous radiance. Staying power is impressive as well (applied over primer and/or foundation), with minimal fading seen at the 9 hour mark.

As someone who is rather obsessed with both blush and highlighters, I can tell you right off the bat that this blush/highlighter is truly gorgeous. There’s a well-balanced mix of both cool and warm tones in each section that makes this beauty wearable by a broad variety of skin tones, and even those with the darkest complexions can benefit from the unique hue of the highlighter. I do wish that Burberry would tone down the fragrance factor in some of their products, but even at that it won’t keep me from giving some of the love right back to this duo ♥
