Pixi Beauty · Pixi Pretties Collection 2018
Pixi Beauty products have been steadily gaining ground in my makeup routine, and as a girl who tends to lean more towards luxury beauty, no one is more surprised by this revelation, than me. Several weeks ago, a package came in containing the Pixi Pretties Collection for 2018 –comprised of the latest collaborative efforts between Pixi and 3 beauty influencers — and I couldn’t wait to crack everything open and, well … play. I’m seriously like a kid in a toy store whenever I’m around makeup and who can blame me when stuff like this comes in?
BEAUTYCOUNTER · Velvet Eyeshadow Palettes, Radiant All Over Bronzer & Satin Powder Blush
Lately I’ve been exploring “green” beauty options, in large part to BEAUTYCOUNTER, a brand that’s committed to producing luxury quality cosmetics and skincare that’s as well-crafted as many higher-end counterparts, but without any suspect or banned ingredients. That said, opening up each item I received may have caused my heart to skip a beat, but I still had my suspicions regarding performance; that was before I began testing everything out … #nospoilers
CHANEL · Eyes Collection 2018
For CHANEL’s Eyes Collection 2018, Lucia Pica (the brand’s Global Creative Makeup & Colour Designer), drew inspiration from the magic of the night — in particular the way colours can both hide and reveal themselves, whether under artificial or natural lighting. The interplay of colour and texture is at the heart of this collection, but in my opinion, the true beauty is in how wearable everything is.
NARS · Atomic Blonde Eye and Cheek Palette
When I heard that NARS was releasing a palette named Atomic Blonde, there was NO WAY ON EARTH that I would pass that up; for starters, it’s all about warm-toned neutrals (my jam) then there’s the name, which calls to mind the movie “Atomic Blonde” starring one of my all-time girl crushes, Charlize Theron. Lastly, NARS had me at ‘blonde’ (ummm…moi). In fact, this may very well be my favourite palette from the brand yet.
CHANEL · Apotheosis Le Mat de CHANEL, Fall/Winter 2018
For Fall/Winter 2018, CHANEL is revisualizing matte in a whole new way via the Apotheosis Le Mat de CHANEL Collection. Autumn’s earthy hues are reinvented and given a modern vibe — and while matte reigns supreme here, the finishes have been softened and almost blurred, providing a lushness to the textures that make them in turn utterly feminine, and yet so absolutely powerful. Provocative, done in true CHANEL style.
