CHANEL · Backstage Beauty Fall-Winter 2021/22 Haute Couture

It seemed only fitting that CHANEL’s recent Fall/Winter 2021-2022 Haute Couture show was held at the Palais Galleria, City of Paris Fashion Museum, especially considering that paintings from the Belle Époque (19th century) were the inspiration behind the collection, in particular works from two female artists — Berthe Morisot and Marie Laurencin. Interestingly, both makeup and hair had a strong edge, an effect that toned down the softness of the pieces and gave the looks an overall rock & roll vibe which I personally found so fresh and, well … cool.

CHANEL Les Beiges 2021 Summer Light

I have been a fan of the Les Beiges range since its launch back in 2013 (seriously: plug in “CHANEL Les Beiges” in my search bar to see what I mean) and that love affair continues with the recently released Summer Light 2021 Collection. NARS · Euphoria Collection 2021

Is it just me, or does NARS seem to fly under everyone’s radar? Case in point is the Euphoria Collection released for spring 2021 … a collection, I might add, that I actually hadn’t heard much about it landed at my doorstep a few days ago. And since I also love a good beauty surprise, this collection has totally checked every.single.box.

NARS Summer Solstice 2021 Collection

A few weeks ago, NARS launched the Summer Solstice Collection for 2021, and I have to say, it’s a good one. Damn good, in fact. True to François Nars’ aesthetic, both pieces come housed in stunning packaging that definitely compliments what’s on the inside. Spoiler: these palettes absolutely deliver.

CHANEL Cruise 2021/22 Collection · Backstage Beauty

This past May 3rd, CHANEL presented its Cruise 2021-2022 Collection, with Virginie Viard once again turning to Gabrielle Chanel’s personal archives for inspiration. Held at Carrières de Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence (South of France), this former quarry with its towering stone-cut walls, instantly calls to mind ancient Egyptian structures (no? just me?). So totally unique and absolutely impressive … and now I absolutely want to go there.
