First Look: Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation

New from Illamasqua’s sublimely creative beauty tank, comes a trail-blazing and innovative new product: Skin Base Foundation.  Inspired by cult Asian brand Beauty Balm, which is slowly appearing in the UK market, ‘Skin Base’ Foundation promises to effortlessly create a flawless complexion.  Known for their exotic collections, richly pigmented products as well as trend-setting colour combinations, Illamasqua now sets the stage by bringing us a product that will turn your face into the perfect canvas with which to bring out your ‘alter ego’.  Let your inner expressionism fly!

In the words of David Horne, Illamasqua Director of Product Development, “Skin Base is an innovative formula that doesn’t require any outlandish marketing claims.  In my 20 years experience as a professional make-up artist, I have tried some fantastic foundation innovations, but nothing compares to Skin Base’s winning texture and professional finish — it will leave you staring at your immaculate skin in wonderment.  I was an immediate convert, and take tremendous pride in introducing this to the market

Based on a revolutionary new “water in silicone” formula, it can work effectively as both a foundation and skin care.  This product can also be used as a primer, a liquid concealer, as well as a foundation that melts into your skin to even out and balance your tone, providing an undetectable yet flawless complexion.  As it also contains a Vitamin C derivative, it may also scavenge and destroy aggressive oxidizing agents and free radicals on the skin.  Beginning June 23rd, Skin Base Foundation will be available in 18 shades (£25 for 30 ml), from the palest ivory to a deep brown, making it very easy to find your appropriate hue or a combination of colours for that absolutely perfect match.

To demonstrate the new Skin Base Foundation, the stunning look in the photo above was created by national make-up artist Clare Lille using the following Illamasqua products:

  • Cream Pigment in ‘Dab’
  • Powder Blusher in ‘Hussy’
  • Precision Ink in ‘Glister’
  • Eyebrow Cake in ‘Peak’

Sheer Lipgloss in ‘Tantrum’

The fabulous manicure was created by über-talented nail artist Marian Newman, using Illamasqua’s ‘Scorn’ and ‘Jo’Mina’ nail varnishes.
