Drawing inspiration from the effortless spirit that characterizes the Parisian style, Guerlain has launched their first collection for eyes & lips –all based on the ever-popular nude theme. With luxe packaging that just begs to be publicly displayed, there’s certainly nothing boring about these pieces … and that’s just for starters.

Ombres G 910 Undressed Brown (CAN $99.00) | The deeper hued palette of the collection (the other is Wild Nudes, not shown), the hefty metallic case also comes with a protective velveteen sleeve as well as a full sized mirror on the inner lid. The two small brushes it includes I can do without, but I have to say that their quality is decent enough that they can be used in a pinch. Comprised of 3 different textures (metallic, satin, and matte), the shades may appear strong, but they’re nevertheless wearable by a broad range of skin tones. Each is richly pigmented with a buttery smooth feel and easy to blend out. Staying power when worn over primer, is also excellent. PS: all shades can also be applied using your fingertip — this method not only can pack on the pigment, but works for an effortless ‘deconstructed’ look as well.
There’s something so captivating about this colour story; the copper shade immediately caught my eye and is definitely the star of the show here, but can also work as a counterpoint to the deeper hues — especially if you’re looking for a more subtle pop.

Noir G Mascara 02 Brown (CAN $47.00) | Housed in a luxe golden metallic tube, this is a brown version of the the original black Noir G Mascara — which also happens to rank as a favourite of mine, and one that I reach for often. The curved brush hugs lashes and deposits a healthy amount of colour per swipe, providing intense volume, length and long-lasting curl. This deep brown colour fits perfectly with the nude theme; no harsh lines here, thank you. Another benefit to wearing brown mascara, is that you still get depth of colour, but in a softer way — perfect for creating a subtle look. No creasing, flaking or smudging is seen throughout wear, and it comes off easily using a dual-phased remover.
Rouge G Refillable Lipstick N° 08 (CAN $44.00) | Part of the 12 nude shades of the brand’s Naturally Collection, the Rouge G lipstick formula is utterly luxurious. With a texture that feels balmy and lush, it also sports excellent pigmentation, depositing perfect colour with each swipe. This particular pink nude shade is so incredibly wearable and basically good-proof to apply, while the soft sheen of its finish is also quite flattering and gives lips the appearance of fullness. Bonus points scored for it being refillable, meaning less packaging is needed, which translates to less waste — perfectly in line with Guerlain’s ethos of environmental mindfulness.
Rouge G Rosewood Double Mirror Case (CAN $30.00) | For this Naturally Collection, 3 new cases have been created (Rosy Nude & Berry Brown, not shown) showcasing grained textures that are evocative of skin’s sensory nature. Each comes with a flip-up mirror, making it the perfect accessory to touch up your lipstick in the most chic way; as someone who’s not a fan of public makeup application, I definitely make an exception for this, lol.
One of the reasons I love being a Guerlain Ambassador, is the quality; regardless if that’s makeup, skincare, fragrance, or the packaging, no detail is overlooked and everything always delivers as promised. The fact that this is the first luxury brand to be so active in environmental mindfulness, is both impressive & inspirational. Add to that list Guerlain’s bee protection initiatives, and my question is this: what’s NOT to love about this brand? As far as this collection goes, every single product is an absolute win and definitely worth your time to check out.
