I’m not exactly sure when it happened, but when I began noticing some faint lines creeping their way around my eyes, I knew that I wouldn’t go down without a fight. Putting project “Age Erase” into action meant finding a product that could not only deliver on its promises, but one that wouldn’t break the bank – after all, taking care of one’s skin is a lifetime commitment, no? Since I’ve been a long time fan of the KORRES brand, I felt confident in giving their ‘Evening Primrose Eye Cream’ a shot … read on to learn the results!
love the patriotic blue & white packaging – my Greek pride is showing!
‘Evening Primrose Eye Cream’ is a lightly scented cream bearing a medium thick viscosity, that applies easily and gives an instant boost of hydration to the delicate skin around your eyes. A little goes a long way with this cream, so I advise you to start with small increments and add more only if needed. The texture feels almost cooling once applied but it is fairly rich, therefore it will take a little longer than usual to be fully absorbed into the skin; give yourself plenty of time once you apply – good to keep in mind if you’re planning on a subsequent makeup application.
The 20 ml tube holds a generous amount of product and I personally prefer my skincare to be in this format (tube), as I don’t think dipping one’s fingers into a container is the most hygienic way to go, although that’s also a matter of personal preference.
The evening primrose plant has long been revered for its healing properties, most likely due to its high concentration of GLA (gamma linolenic acid), an essential fatty acid that our bodies need for optimum health. Combined with several other organically sourced herbal extracts to help combat not only visible signs of aging, but to help nourish the skin on several levels, the efficacy of the star ingredient in this product is well enhanced. According to the company, this eye cream is:
“combined with B5 and Ruscus Extracts that hydrate and nourish the delicate skin around the eyes, while visibly diminishing the look of dark circles”
Apart from the fact that all KORRES products are made in Greece using environmentally sound practices and use as many organic ingredients possible, I love how the company avoids all the known allergy-inducing synthetics, and actually places expiry dates on all that they produce – how smart is that?

Final thoughts: I have been using this eye cream for several weeks now, and while I can’t make any extravagant claims as to all lines around my eyes having been eliminated, I can definitely state that I have noticed a difference; the skin around my eyes seems slightly plumper and brighter in tone as a result, and perhaps that same plumpness may account for my lines seeming less visible. I have never suffered from under eye circles, so I can’t really comment on that but I did put this eye cream to the test just this past weekend when I had a very late night (Greek wedding – enough said!), and when I finally dragged myself up, the part of me that looked the most awake was my eyes – that’s proof enough for me! That being said, I feel that this eye cream may be best suited for more mature skin or anyone who suffers from dry skin, as the richness of this product may just prove to be too much for oilier skins to handle. The other caveat is that you cannot use this on your eyelids, therefore anyone looking for a more complete eye care routine should be aware of this fact.
