The latest releases from beauty giant L’Oréal Paris are quite the pleasant surprise and in my humble opinion, well worth looking into. Lip Palettes and I haven’t always been on the same page, but one quick swipe of the Le Palette shades convinced me otherwise, while my inner mascara fiend couldn’t wait to dive into the new Butterfly Sculpt – plus, it has the word ‘butterfly’ in the name; what could be more Spring-like than that?

Each palette consists of 5 shades with an accompanying lip brush (that actually works amazingly well, much to my surprise) ranging from light to dark and in colours to suit most skin tones across the board. Each shade displays excellent pigmentation and has a buttery smooth texture that comes to a glossy finish. There is a moisturized feel upon the lips throughout the wearing and even after the colour has faded, with the darkest shades leaving a light stain behind as well. The best part; you can even mix & match the shades to create an ombré look, as seen in the last lip swatches for both palettes.

Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara (CAN $13.99) | With its innovative new ‘sculpting wing tip technology‘, this latest iteration from L’Oréal’s best-selling range of mascaras has been created to not only provide your lashes with a densely lush coating of colour, but the unique new brush shape aims to get as close to the roots of lashes as possible to give eyes a ‘tightline’ effect.
As you can see from the swatches below, 1 coat gives excellent coverage while 2 coats amp up the volume factor, with the brush tip making it easy to separate lashes as well as reach those finer hairs at the edges. The formula initially applies semi-wet but then dries relatively quickly (you still have time to work through lashes before it sets), wearing well throughout the day without any smudging or flaking, and removes easily with a dual-phase eye makeup remover.

It’s refreshing to see how far mass market brands have come, and I must say that L’Oréal Paris has been putting on quite the show lately, releasing products that are not only on trend but delivering quality-wise as well. All three items shown in this post prove my point quite thoroughly, and the best part is that you can usually score any of these lovelies at a deal as well.
