Mèreadesso Face + Neck Cleanser

Sometimes we overcomplicate our lives; case in point, our beauty routines: makeup remover, cleanser, toner, moisturizer, eye cream … sounds like a long & tedious process, doesn’t it? Is it any wonder then, that most people start off with good intentions ie: to faithfully prep their skin twice a day … then wind up dropping the ball? Which beauty lover, in her or his right mind, wouldn’t want to simplify things by a “one-product-does-it-all” kind of deal? That was exactly my thought when this little gem landed on my doorstep. One cleansing product that promises to remove all traces of makeup, thoroughly cleanse the skin, tone and even leave it feeling well hydrated after … Mèreadesso Face + Neck Cleanser is said to do all that. Oh yes, count me in!

The globally sourced ingredient blend includes botanical extracts and vitamins. Effective as a deep cleanser but gentle enough for use around the eye area. My experience:

The tall rectangular shaped acrylic bottle with its gunmetal-grey squared-off cap and easy-pump dispenser system, comes with a zippered & reusable plastic pouch (perfect for travel) as well as a chamois-like face cloth that can also be easily washed & reused, while the product itself is a creamy white hue with a fresh and pleasant herbal scent. After wetting my skin, I found that approximately 4 quick pumps yielded the perfect amount for my entire face and neck, and after massaging it all over, I then wet the cleansing cloth and used it to perform a gentle exfoliation/buffing as well as get to every last vestige of makeup. Using a white towel to dry off, gave proof that this cleanser really does remove everything: the towel remained pristine.

My skin type: combination, with definite oily tendencies (primarily along the T-zone, but humid weather makes my cheeks slick as well).

Initially, I was skeptical that one product could accomplish everything it claimed, and after one week of use, I felt justified in my beliefs. Then 2 things happened: after returning from a 2-week beach holiday, my skin felt rough and I experienced several breakouts (at MY age…really!) and was in need of some major TLC, so I decided to give the Mèreadesso Face + Neck Cleanser another shot. Guess what? Not only did my skin feel and look noticeably more even & toned, but my breakouts disappeared in record time. The second thing I did, was to reserve judgement until I had a full 2 weeks of testing under my belt (morning & nightly use), and that made all the difference: you need to be consistent with any product, in order to see true results. I did find that I had to stop applying this product too close to my eyes, as I wound up experiencing sensitivity there (my skin felt tingly and any makeup applied made my eyes tear excessively), which was quickly resolved as soon as I eliminated that area from my routine. One bonus I did not expect, was that my pores seemed significantly less visible and definitely less prone to blackheads (sorry … I know that sounds gross, but I had to include it).

Last word: After the success I experienced from my first holiday, this cleanser (along with the matching moisturizer – reviewed here) and an eye cream from Korres (not yet reviewed), were the only facial products I packed for a family reunion I attended last weekend as well as being the first items to go in my travel makeup bag for my present holiday (yes, I’m on vacation again….ducks flying missiles). I believe in pampering one’s skin, but let’s be honest here; who want to lug along 25 different products to accomplish that? One cleanser. One moisturizer. One eye cream – for both my morning and evening routines … and I’m set.
