Battling the obstacles that Mother Nature regularly throws at your hair routine, just got a little easier: introducing ‘Moroccanoil® Frizz Control’, the latest innovation from the brand beloved by professional stylists, celebrities and the general population at large! All hair types can be affected by humidity to one degree or another; ‘Frizz Control’ with its Hair Humidity Resistance Factor, helps to reduce the effects of said humidity and provides manageability and control over frizz, including flyaways, static, split ends and severely damaged hair.
My trials with ‘Frizz Control’ began this Summer, in the heart of oppressive heat and incredibly high humidity levels – ideal conditions to test this product’s claims. Let me set the scene for you first: I have long, colour treated (pale champagne blond) hair, individually thin strands but a lot of it, and it is paradoxically both dry & oily. The dryness stems from the colour process, and as the oiliness is something inherent to my hair, you can imagine my hesitation to add yet MORE oil to my hair, but for the sake of the experiment, I jumped right in. Having had the opportunity to test and review several other Moroccanoil® products recently (here), I felt confident that I would not be disappointed…and I definitely wasn’t!
The complete list of ingredients is clearly shown on the back panel of the packaging, with Moroccanoil’s® star ingredient,”argania spinosa kernel oil” (argan oil) placing 4th in the lineup, implying a fairly decent amount of this nourishing and restorative ingredient.
The directions on the bottle/packaging, state to spray anywhere between one all the way to five pumps onto your hair (depending on your hair’s type & thickness, of course) but I found it much easier and more effective to spray approximately four-five pumps into my hand (*and here you need to adjust the amount of pumps for your own hair type*), rubbed my palms together, then distributed the product evenly throughout my hair. I began with the ends, then worked my way up all the way to the roots, even running my fingers repeatedly through my hair. Once the product was applied, I encouraged further distribution by combing it through thoroughly.
The results were astonishing; having applied ‘Frizz Control’ in early morning, then using both a blow-dryer followed by a flat iron, and immediately subjecting my hair (and myself!) to horrifically humid weather, I could not believe that not only did my hair refuse to poof out, but actually stayed sleek, smooth and frizz-free the entire day. An added bonus was the incredible shine my hair enjoyed, and let’s not forget that haunting Moroccanoil® scent, which I swear I am absolutely addicted to!
Final thoughts: Finding a product that lives up to its claims is like winning the lottery, and just as satisfying! Not only will Moroccanoil® ‘Frizz Control’ actually manage any lurking frizz levels, but the argan oil found in this product will help protect and strengthen your hair, all while adding incredible shine. Retailing for CAD $32.00, Moroccanoil® ‘Frizz Control’ is available now at fine salons and spas or you could visit the company’s website for more information on the entire Moroccanoil® range of products.
