OPI – Marbling Tutorial!

For all you enterprising and adventurous nail polish fans, here is an interesting tutorial on a hot method right now: marbling.

For those of you unfamiliar with this term, it is simply the name of the effect created when you swirl 2 or more nail polish colours together in water, then transfer that image to your nails…..very similar to the veining patterns you’ll find on marble’s surface (hence the name marbling!).  I personally have not tried this yet, although I’m very tempted to see what I can create after watching this tutorial.  In doing a little bit of research about the subject, I learned that another way to protect the skin surrounding your nails from lacquer messes, is to apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline) around your nail, being careful to not actually touch the nail itself.  Then once you’re done, you simply tissue any mess off and you have the added benefit of moisturizing your skin at the same time with this method. Enjoy!

If you do give this a whirl, feel free to show me your creative results and to let me know how this worked for you!  Let me know if this method is a keeper or not!
