As I mentioned in an earlier post (here), OPI has partnered up with The Miss Universe Organization and will be launching four dazzling new and limited edition shades this coming August, set to coincide and compliment the Miss Universe Pageant, which will take place in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. These four lacquers all have one thing in common: you cannot help but stare at them and be completely smitten by the glittery spectacle they put on!
‘Congeniality Is My Middle Name’ is described as a “berry-wine” shimmer, although it seems to lean more towards a regal shimmery purple in this image. Either way, it has winner written all over it!
As glitter polishes are still riding high in popularity, ‘Crown Me Already!’ described as a “sassy, silver sparkle”, brings to mind an image of the scintillating diamonds of the winner’s tiara…swoon-worthy!
Almost a duo-chrome, ‘It’s MY Year’ is said to be a plummy-rose hue with a unique golden shimmer swirling throughout….captivatingly mysterious – sounds intriguing!
Finally, ‘Swimsuit…Nailed It!’ described as an “itsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie, vibrant shiny-blue bikini” (you gotta love these OPI monikers & descriptions) has pageant written all over it’s royal blue shimmery depths.
Final thoughts: I don’t know why, but this entire collection seems to remind me of a technicolor underwater scene out of someone’s creative imagination. These four hues look vibrant, yet in line with today’s trends and I personally cannot wait to see them in person. As this is a limited edition collection, you know the drill: don’t delay in picking them up if they’re calling your name! The shades will retail for CAD $10.95 each and will be available as of August 2011 wherever OPI products are sold.
