Maybe it’s just me, but the spring 2011 collections that have started making their appearances at counters and online, all seem to be radiantly spectacular! The Yves Saint Laurent Bohème Libertine Spring 2011 Collection is like a breath of fresh air…..so vibrant & pretty!
Apart from the fabulous quality and über luxurious packaging that has become synonymous with YSL cosmetics, they always seem to create at least one pièce de réstance : Pink Celebration Powder is that item of this collection. Available in 2 shades, a delicate rose and a more neutral peach, this finely milled powder highlighter is embossed in a pattern that simulates undulating folds of cloth while the outside of the case is just as interesting, with ‘Yves Saint Laurent’ repeated all over in raised lettering:
As well, there will be new glosses, eye shadow solo’s and a new mascara shade in Deep Plum:
New for YSL cosmetics this year, is their introduction of cream blushes:

The eye shadow palette, #10 Bohemian Chic consists of 5 complimentary shades of lilac hued white, deep rose-pink, bronze tinted brown, dusty denim blue and an airy celadon green:
Lastly, there will be 2 new limited shades of nail polish in Favorite Chic, a rich mushroomy/taupe and Blue Topaz, a deep & electric cerulean blue:
This collection effortlessly steers away from the deep fall/winter releases with a fresh take on traditional spring pastel hues. I am quite interested to see how their cream blushes will fare, and I confess to having a weakness for highlight powders…and YSL are known producing some of the best that’s out there. Of course, you just know that I will be pouncing on those nail polishes….can’t resist taupes of any shade and just look at that blue! Brings to mind a vision of the sun reflecting off the Mediterranean!
