MAC | It’s A Strike Collection

MAC It's A Strike opener

One thing you can always count on when it comes to MAC, is that even if a current collection doesn’t grab your fancy, the next one just might – case in point: their latest It’s A Strike Collection that’s aiming to bowl you over this coming August 18th. Kitschy bowling names aside, this grouping includes a surprisingly number of totally wearable shades, along with a face powder that is almost too adorable to put a brush to. I mean … bowling pins!

MAC X Star Trek Collection | Pressed Pigment, Superslick Liquid Eye Liner & Lashes

MAC Star Trek eyes opener

I’m not going to lie: this latest collaboration between MAC & Star Trek has me giddy with excitement. Giddy, I tell you. Partly, it’s due to the actual products but as a lifelong Trekker, the main reason is, well … STAR TREK. Whereas yesterday’s post featured new face powders, today’s focus will be on the eye lovelies of this collection: four new pressed pigment shades, 3 new eye liners plus a pair of out-of-this-world lashes. Beam me into this beauty wonderland, Scotty.

Space … the final frontier … these are the voyages of the starship Enterprise … ∗cue music∗

I am, and always have been a Trekker (to paraphrase Spock from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan). I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t obsessed with this franchise, having grown up watching the original series over & over again and always wishing I could be a crew member. I also vividly recall waiting in line with a bunch of friends to see the premiere of Star Trek the Motion Picture and all of us singing/humming the opening theme at the top of our lungs, not to mention crying my eyes out when Spock ‘died’, or the absolute horror I felt upon seeing the Enterprise crash and burn. Yes, I am a bonafide fan and you can probably imagine my delirium when I first learned that MAC would be producing a Star Trek Collection in collaboration with the original franchise’s 50th Anniversary. Let the log show that I couldn’t think of a better brand to bring this venture to life.
