You guys, it’s not even Christmas, yet the spring 2023 beauty trends are already rolling out and first out of the gate is CHANEL with the Spring/Summer 2023 Ready-to-Wear Show. Inspired by the 1961 movie L’Année Dernière à Marienbad by Alain Resnais, Virginie Viard sent looks down the runway that were the very expression of freedom of movement. I can honestly say that this was the first runway show where every.single.exquisite look 100% took my breath away. But we’re here for the beauty, am I right?

The venue
In keeping with the Spring/Summer theme, both the hair and beauty looks were minimal but still fresh and very wearable — not to mention easy to recreate. Neutrals abounded, both in the makeup and nails, which I’m guessing was deliberately done to allow the beautifully-crafted fashion to shine. One eyeshadow palette was used for all the models, with each individual complexion dictating which particular shade would be the focus. Cheeks sported a bright pop of colour, but softened down and slightly muted. The two lipstick shades chosen were a nice juxtaposition and in perfect harmony with the rest of the makeup, while the iconic Ballerina was worn along the nails — aka: the most perfect soft pink shade that literally compliments all skin tones. Hair was either slicked back into a low pony and adorned with an elegant rhinestone clip, or softly flattened and smoothed out; again, easy to wear & recreate.
The models’ skin was first prepped with CHANEL’s Hydra Beauty Micro Sérum and Camellia Water Cream

As I said at the top, I absolutely loved ALL the creations shown, and while one is supposed to lean more towards pastels for spring/summer (of which there were plenty in the show), my personal faves were these three black numbers. You can view everything by visiting CHANEL’s site.
Mademoiselle’s classic tweed, made elegant with the use of sequin trim, edgily demure with the fishnet knee-high socks, and utterly mod via the shorter length
Everything about this. Everything. Also, I seem to be obsessed with tulle lately
More tulle (*dreamy sigh*) and the most adorable shoes
The details are unbelievable. Definitely adding this to my wishlist
The most beautifully elegant bridal look: simple, classic and easily wearable again
