Inspired by Mademoiselle’s love of talismans, CHANEL recently launched Les Symboles de CHANEL, a collection of highlighting powders in 5 motifs and 3 glowy shades. Apart from how visually stunning these are, it’s the performance that matters and spoiler alert: they absolutely deliver.

Les Symboles de CHANEL Oversize Illuminating Face Powder (CAN $115.00/each) | There are 5 motifs to choose from (not shown: Le Camélia, La Chaîne, and La Comète) with each available in 3 shades: Warm Gold, Precious Coral, and Pearly White. Housed in the brand’s iconic black lacquered case, they also includes a full size mirror on the inner lid, while the large size of the pan makes it easy to use a variety of brushes to pick up product. The texture of the powder is incredibly fine-milled and blends beautifully along the skin, leaving behind a stunning glow that’s not gritty or sparkly.
Les Perles Precious Coral | A soft peachy-coral hue with complex shimmer. To me, this is like a less intense version of NARS’ iconic Orgasm blush (Les Perles has less gold in the base), making it very wearable on a broad range of skin tones. Another perk is that you can even layer this over blush for a unique new glowy combo.
Le Lion Warm Gold | A stunning gold hue with complex shimmer and a hint of nude/pink. I’ve really been feeling golden hues lately and this highlighter checks off all the boxes: a beautiful shade that will be suitable for a range of complexions, and coming to a radiant finish.
Note that both shades have been heavily swatched (above) in order to show the colour in detail. That said, they’re both easily diffused to your preferred level and/or taste.
I may own enough highlighters to create my very own Aurora Borealis, but in my book there’s always room for more — especially when it comes to CHANEL. The texture and finish of both is absolutely stellar and I can honestly say that these are my current faves … although now I really want to try the Pearly White shade. The biggest dilemma in my option? Choosing the motif, because they’re all THAT exquisite.
