The recent CHANEL Fall-Winter 2023/24 Haute Couture runway show was all about the quintessentially Parisian woman with her indefinable charm. The fashion was absolutely breathtaking with no detail overlooked (naturally — this is CHANEL, after all), while the beauty was as you’d expect: nonchalantly gorgeous and in perfect harmony with all the runway creations.

The makeup look leaned neutral but defined, and was even made a touch edgy via the softly smoked eyes. But the real star of the show beauty-wise, was the new 31 Le Rouge Lipstick with its futuristic-chic glass casing. For the record, I’m still on the fence about picking one up (because $$$$), but I have no issue adding it to my Christmas list! The entire vibe was one that was eye-catching but never looked as though it was trying too hard, and sits right in my wheelhouse of makeups that I personally prefer to wear. The nails were the ubiquitous Ballerina and if you don’t have this iconic shade yet, then I definitely suggest picking it up, as it’s one of the most perfect neutral sheer pinks out there. But the absolute best part of this look, is that all the products used — with the exception of the lipstick — are part of the permanent collection, and you may already own most.
MAKE-UP STEP BY STEP
COMPLEXION
Apply LES BEIGES WATER-FRESH COMPLEXION TOUCH with the 2-in-1 FOUNDATION BRUSH FLUID AND POWDER N°101
Correct any imperfections of the face using LE CORRECTEUR DE CHANEL with RETRACTABLE DUAL-TIP CONCEALER BRUSH N°105 where needed
Sweep loose powder POUDRE UNIVERSELLE LIBRE onto t-zone and cheeks with the POWDER BRUSH N°106
With the FOUNDATION BRUSH N°100, apply the LES BEIGES CRÈME BELLE MINE ENSOLEILLÉE just below your cheekbones, starting from your ears and ending in the middle of your cheek, then on the temples and a little on the forehead for an overall sunkissed look
EYEBROW
Brush the brows with DUAL-ENDED BROW BRUSH N°207.
Fill in with STYLO SOURCILS WATERPROOF using small fine strokes.
Apply le GEL SOURCILS in TRANSPARENT lightly, to add depth & definition
Apply JOUES CONTRASTE 71 MALICE high on the cheeks for a touch of freshness using the BLUSH BRUSH N° 110
EYES
With the RETRACTABLE DUAL-ENDED EYESHADOW BRUSH N°200, apply the lightest shade of LES 4 OMBRES 308 CLAIR-OBSCUR just below the eyebrow arch
Add a small touch of light to the inner corner of the eye using the lighter shade (top of the palette) from LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW NATURAL EYESHADOW PALETTE MEDIUM
Trace a line through the eyelashes using LE CRAYON YEUX 19 BLUE JEAN starting from the center of the eyelid
Apply LE CRAYON KHÔL 69 CLAIR inside the lower inner eyelid rim for brightness
Finish the look with the mascara NOIR ALLURE 10 NOIR on the upper and lower lashes
LIPS
Apply 31 LE ROUGE all over the lips using the Dual-Ended LIP BRUSH N°300
NAILS
Moisturize the hands with LA CRÈME MAIN
Prepare the nails with a coat of LA BASE CAMÉLIA
Set up with LE VERNIS 167 BALLERINA
Fix and add shine with LE GEL COAT
