Like a floral bouquet, only so much better since each of these ‘blooms‘ will last way longer (plus: you can wear them!), these Clinique Lid Pop lovelies are one of the newest releases from a brand that has been quietly but steadily producing some absolutely stellar beauty products.
Made with their patented ‘Slurry Technology’, the formula behind these Lid Pop eyeshadows (available in 8 shades) starts out as a smooth liquid and as it slowly bakes, transforms into a new distinct powder format that feels luxuriously lightweight, silky smooth to the touch, and beautifully pigmented. Throw in that adorable flower pattern, and I’m there.

Clinique Lid Pop swatches
01 Vanilla Pop (CAN $22.00) | A soft bone/ivory hue (warm leaning) that is the most matte in finish of the bunch, but still has a hint of sheen to keep it from looking flat. Vanilla Pop basically disappears upon my light-medium skin-tone, but has been my go-to shade lately for using as an allover lid base. Pigmentation wise, this is also the lightest of the group, but applies smoothly without any chalkiness.
02 Cream Pop (CAN $22.00) | A soft rose-gold/champagne hue with ultra fine shimmer (definitely warm-leaning but can be easily adapted for those with cooler skin tones). Cream Pop is stunning when worn as an allover lid shade, especially for those seeking just a sheer wash of colour, but can also be built up for stronger radiance. Works beautifully as an inner eye & brow bone highlight as well.
03 Cocoa Pop (CAN $22.00) | A cool leaning milk chocolate hue with hints of mauve in the base and a slight duo chrome shift which adds a nice depth of tone. As a fan of all things taupe, Cocoa Pop is stunning worn solo, but also works beautifully in the crease area or even as a transition shade between colours. Amazing colour saturation that can be easily built up for more impact, but very effortless to blend out as well. LOVE!
10 Grape Pop (CAN $22.00) | An amethyst hue with a good mix of both cool and warm tones to make it wearable by a wide variety of skin tones. For a unique take on a smokey eye, Grape Pop looks absolutely spectacular and will make your eye colour really stand out (TIP: if you’ve got green eyes, THIS is the shade you want), but I’ve been loving this as a smudgy liner on the lower lash line; gives definition but in a more diffused and wearable way.
11 Surf Pop (CAN $22.00) | A lush azure blue shade with the strongest shimmer of the group, but which still applies completely smooth and never chunky. As someone who usually avoids blues, Surf Pop has surprised me with its wearability, and I especially love it blended together with either Cocoa Pop or Grape Pop – in particular at the outer part of the eye lid, or along the lower lash line (really makes the whites of the eyes look brighter).
Clinique Lid Pop
Clinique is a brand that I personally feel has not been getting its just due where colour cosmetics are concerned. This is a brand that has been flying under the radar but which continues to produce some truly quality products that rivals that of many luxury brands, but at a much more wallet-friendly price point. These Lid Pop hues are a perfect example, and I have been impressed with the performance of each shade. Naturally, my love of neutrals means I first gravitate towards Cocoa Pop and Cream Pop, but it speaks volumes that both Grape Pop and Surf Pop have already seen some major wear time. Also, is is wrong that I almost want to eat Vanilla Pop? (but I won’t)
