First look: a-england’s ‘The Legend’ (upcoming collection)

– St. George and the Dragon by Edward Burne-Jones

A sainted knight … a doomed princess … a fearsome dragon – when myth collides with art, ‘The Legend’ is born!  Introducing the latest upcoming collection from a-england, seven stunning shades inspired by the legend of St. George, patron saint of England. This classic tale of how a sacrificial princess narrowly avoids a desperate fate, is tempered by the incredible bravery shown by her savior – heroic acts and values that are highly revered by England to this very day.

An superb melding of exceptional lacquer, these seven hues are all filled with an intricate play of ultra-fine holographic particles, that while adding amazing depth to each shade, still manages to maintain a sophisticated, elegant, and totally modern vibe.

‘St. George’ – a brave new deep teal, the colour of a valiant heart.

‘Dragon’ – an iridescent green, humming with serpantine energy.

‘Princess Sabra’ (Tristam Eyes) – a breathtaking bronzeite, as complex as the princess herself.

‘Order Of The Garter’ – a shimmering regal yet intense blue, chivalrous to the core.

‘Princess Tears’ – a subtly delicate lavender glow, but with a deeply felt impact.

‘Ascalon’ – an unforgettable incandescent grey, thrumming with power.

‘Bridal Veil’ – a deeply glimmering black, filled with the luminosity of an endless night.

Final thoughts: Adina Bodana, founder and über-creative mind (genius!) behind a-england, has accomplished what few other brands can boast of: she has singlehandedly taken a fledgling brand, borne from her passion for varnish, colour, and history, and merged all these elements together into the very fabric of the line. When ‘The Mythicals’ burst onto our awareness, I was initially captivated by the concept behind the collection; after having tried the lacquers, I revised that to “blown-completely-away” status, and could not get enough … and I soon found out that I wasn’t alone in my opinion!  This latest collection is poised to be catapulted to new heights in the nail varnish world … prepare to be taken back once more into history, when ‘The Legend’ comes to life!  Please feel free to visit a-england (here) for further information on all their products.
