Here’s a scary statistic: 72% of children who need HIV treatment are not receiving it.
Founded as an old-world apothecary in 1851 in New York’s East Village neighbourhood, Kiehl’s has become known for products that not only work, but that are also good for you. Frequently partnering up with various charitable organizations has also become a hallmark of this brand, as they help raise awareness to various causes that so desperately need our help.
Since the early 80’s, Kiehl’s has been actively involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and in the past 10 years alone, they have raised more than $2,500,000 towards the cause – helping to get treatments out to more affected people than ever before.
“By purchasing the limited edition Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, the public can join the movement and help get HIV treatment and loving care to children who need it most. Buying one bottle of Midnight Recovery Concentrate helps Keep a Child Alive provide one month of HIV care, medicines, and love to a child living with HIV”
Kiehl’s will donate 100% of the net profits (up to $200,000) of each bottle of their limited edition packaging of Midnight Recovery Concentrate to benefit Keep a Child Alive.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate (1.0 fl. oz/30 ml CAN $48.00) – Made with a “potent concentration of botanical extracts specifically formulated to biologically replicate skin’s natural lipids, for optimal skin repair throughout the night“, this is a clear liquid with a fresh herbal/green scent that is meant to be applied at night – either alone, or under your usual moisturizer. Housed in a cobalt blue glass bottle to help preserve the integrity of the ingredients, the liquid is measured out via the use of the included dropper.
I was surprised to find that the recommended 3-4 drops of this concentrate was enough for my entire face; when in comes into contact with the skin, this liquid seems to have the ability to almost “stretch out” and cover all areas easily. Fast-absorbing as well, there’s no greasy residue at all nor does it make your feel overly tight – instead, you’re basically left with this incredibly soft skin (I couldn’t stop touching my cheeks), a feeling that continues even when you wake up. As I only recently began using the MRC (as it’s lovingly known amongst devotees), I can’t speak of its long-term results, but what I’ve seen so far has impressed me completely and I can understand why 1 of these Kiehl’s customer favourites is sold globally every minute.

Up until I hit my 30’s, I never really gave facial skincare much thought, and boy, do I regret that inaction now (I’ve always loved body moisturizers, though). Turning back the clock is so much harder to accomplish than indulging in some preventative care now, and taking proper care of your face should be a priority – especially if you’re a beauty lover; your makeup will only look as good as the skin it’s applied on. Applying a few drops of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate at night couldn’t be easier and just knowing that you’ll be helping 2 causes (your skin being the other one) makes it that much sweeter, no?
