L’Oréal Professionnel introduces HAIRchalk (CAN $25.00), the first ‘colour polish for hair’, a selection of 5 vibrant and 3 natural shades that add temporary splashes of colour, and which wash out between 2-5 shampoos (dependent on hair type).
I’m quite skittish about anyone messing with my hair colour, so I was naturally hesitant to try this out – but I plunged in anyway. One semi-discreet purple stripe later, and I now want to try ALL the shades!
As these are water based dyes, they can also be diluted for a more subtle, almost ‘watercolour-like’ effect, and the beauty is that once set (the colour is applied wet using a sponge applicator – brushes work too – then combed out & blown dry), there is no fallout or colour transfer. The finish is rather matte, but not unpleasantly so, and remains that way until it eventually washes out.
The possibilities are literally endless; think of HAIRchalk as makeup for your hair: you can now switch things up as often as you change nail polish, no permanent commitment needed – whether you opt to apply it at home, or take it to another level with the help of a salon stylist.
