NARS · Euphoria Collection 2021

Is it just me, or does NARS seem to fly under everyone’s radar? Case in point is the Euphoria Collection released for spring 2021 … a collection, I might add, that I actually hadn’t heard much about it landed at my doorstep a few days ago. Personally, I absolutely adore everything about this brand — from the beautifully crafted packaging, the quality of the products, and the names (hello, Orgasm anyone?). And since I also love a good beauty surprise, this collection has totally checked every.single.box.

Euphoria Face Palette, limited edition (CAN $78.00) | Done in a lush salmon hue and housed in a luxe rigid plastic case with an acrylic decorative top, this palette also includes a full sized mirror on the inner lid. Inside are 8 eyeshadow shades in a mix of shimmer & matte finishes, along with 3 highlighters. The texture of the formula is amazing: buttery smooth, richly pigmented, and effortless to blend out. Each eyeshadow pan is large enough that you can easily pick up product with your brush, as are the generously sized pans of the highlighters. I’d say that these colours lean more warm than cool, but can still be made to work on a broad range of skin tones. By the way, you can really amp up the shimmers by applying them with a dampened brush. Staying power (over primer/for the eyeshadows, foundation/for the highlighters) is excellent, with minimal fading and all colours staying true.

  • Eye To Eye – matte light taupe
  • Phaedra – shimmering white with pink pearl
  • Dream State – shimmering magenta with blue reflective pearl
  • Athene – matte light peach
  • Illumina – shimmering medium gold with red undertones
  • Out Of Bounds – shimmering chocolate brown
  • Slow Burn – shimmering hot pink
  • Dark Sky – matte chocolate brown

  • Teorama – shimmering medium peach
  • Spell – shimmering medium gold with yellow undertones
  • Solaris – shimmering light pink

Euphoria Face Dew, limited edition (US $30.00) | Before I get into it, I need add that even though this collection launched several weeks ago, I received everything just recently and I now only find this product online at the US website — which doesn’t mean that it may not actually be in stores, but I wanted to let you know just the same. With that out of the way, this is a liquid highlighter that has a hint of colour and imparts that “glass skin” effect. Don’t let the deep berry shade scare you, as it blends out into a healthy-looking flush. As this is an emollient product that does’t dry down, you can expect it to move somewhat and may even need reapplication — all of which is not a deal-breaker for me as I am completely blown away by the finish and the effect it imparts. Personally, I love this on bare skin (no foundation or primer underneath) and now that I’ve gotten a bit of colour on my face, it gives the most ethereal glow. Absolute LOVE!

Afterglow Lip Shine, limited edition (CAN $34.00/each) | Housed in clear acrylic rectangular tubes (aka: so easy to see which shade you’re reaching for), these glosses come with metallic rose gold caps and a soft flocked applicator. The formula is infused with Raspberry Seed Oil and Pomegranate Extract, both of which help to provide a high-voltage shine, full-on hydration, and an extremely comfortable wear. With 8 shades in total (not shown: Sunrush, Hot Spell, and Daybreaker), these might be glosses that come to a mirror-like finish, but the texture feels so balmy, leaving lips feeling throughly nourished long after all traces of colour are gone.

  • Broken Glass – shimmering clear base with reflective pearl
  • Deep Realm – glossy neutral peach
  • Egoiste – glossy peach pink
  • La Chamade – glossy bright rose
  • Dark Deeds – glossy fuchsia

Wow. I mean, WOW. Apart from the aesthetic vibe of the collection (so gorg), each product absolutely delivers in terms of quality. As far as the palette goes, not only are all shades stunning but the pricing is excellent as well (divided, it works out to +/- $7 per pan). As a gloss girl (because I’m lazy that way), I’m impressed by the superior formula of these glosses, along with a shine that can’t be beat. I’m also surprised by how much I’m enjoying the Face Dew and I sure hope NARS is reading, because this products NEEDS to become permanent (and maybe even add a few more shades in the lineup, while they’re at it). One warning though: everything is limited edition, so … you know the drill.
