With the recent launch of NARS’ Liquid Blush Collection, the brand has managed to create a whole new cheek experience and these lovelies have quickly become the ones I reach for first, I might add. As Summer and warmer weather approaches, the last thing I want is to apply anything heavy on my face and these blushes are redefining what it means for makeup to look ‘natural’; I like to think of them as the perfect flushes of colour (oh, and how gorg is the press box they came in?).

Liquid Blush (CAN $38.00/each) | Housed in a square glass bottle that comes with a removable outer cap in the brand’s signature black rubberized texture, each has a pump dispenser to make application nice & neat (I suggest using a very light hand when squeezing the pimp, as these are all quite concentrated colour-wise and a tiny amount really does go a long, long way). For now, there are four shades in the collection and apart from the high saturation levels, they also have Monoï and Tamanu Oils added to the formula for extra moisture.
Each shade can be applied solo, layered (2-3 hues), or even over powder blush to give it an extra pop of colour and added depth. I also like to apply some to bare skin, then dapple on my foundation with a damp sponge to create a look that literally looks like the blush is emanating from beneath. As they all blend quite easily, you can use a brush to apply (a densely-headed brush is great for depositing a stronger dose, but a small dual-fibre brush works best to diffuse and blend out any edges), or your fingers to really rub the colour into the skin. Staying power — especially over primer/foundation — is excellent, with minimal fading and absolutely no oxidation.
- Orgasm – warm pink with golden shimmer
- Luster – sheer golden apricot
- Torrid – warm coral with golden shimmer
- Dolce Vita – matte dusty rose (ummm, no…there is a fine shimmer actually)
Lately, I’m all about easy-breezy makeup that more often than not requires nothing but fingers for application. What makes this Liquid Blush Collection a total standout for me, is not only how easy each is to wear/apply or the fact that investing in just one bottle will be enough to see one through until judgement day, but how absolutely radiant they look upon the skin and in the most natural way possible too — as though this is the flush of colour you were born with. Total LOVE on all counts and I’m betting we’ll soon be seeing more shades added to the lineup.
