As promised…..Ta-daaaa!
When I applied Today Was A Fairytale, I noticed that it seemed easier to get relatively equal amounts of the glitter on each nail than most of Deborah Lippmann’s other glitter-heavy polishes. I began by applying Deborah Lippmann’s Rehydrating Base Coat, which I am absolutely loving at the moment, although it is thicker than other base coats I’ve used and tends to thicken even more as it ages….still, it gives excellent adhesion and a very smooth surface to work with. Since I prefer the more sheer look you can achieve with this polish, I then applied 2 coats, but you can certainly go for a third if you wanted it even more opaque. The last step was a layer of Seche Vite top coat, which resulted in my nails being dry to the touch within 10 minutes. At first glance you might think this was another glittery silver nail polish, but upon closer inspection and certainly depending on whether its being viewed in natural or artificial lighting, you can see the almost cornflower blue base, which elevates this shade from average to simply stunning. The ‘Virgin Diamond Powder’ adds a jewel-like brilliance that has to be seen to be appreciated. While Deborah Lippmann nail polishes usually retail for US $16.00 and the glitters at US $18.00, these latest additions are slightly pricier at US $20.00, most likely as a result of the added Virgin Diamond Powder and 24K Gold Dust. Enjoy!
