The month of June is pretty much total madness here in Montréal, as the entire city breaks out with a major case of Formula 1 fever — thankfully this year, even the weather cooperated. Once that’s done with, we jump right into Father’s Day … which brings me to my recent visit to The Loop Duty Free Montréal and how pleasantly surprised I was to discover so many options specifically geared for those special guys in our lives. Of course, this also means you really have zero excuse for not picking up a Father’s Day gift, even if travelling. Best part: you’ll be purchasing at a discount with no added tax. Dad will be so proud.
Gravitating first towards the beauty section as per usual, I immediately came upon two new YSL travel palettes that are to die for. Sigh. But I digress … this is about finding Father’s Day gifts, so how about some luxury skincare made especially for men? This way dad can finally stop using up mom’s stash (happens more than you’d guess). There’s also a vast selection of fragrances to choose from, and for the connoisseur, there are entire walls devoted to bubbly, spirits and/or whiskey. Then there’s the fully stocked cigar section (no judgement) and its heavenly cedar aroma. Of course, my visit wouldn’t be complete without scoping out the latest MAC finds (so many new collections!), and I capped things off by trying out several new Lancôme lippies at the centre island display.
To sum up: if travelling from Montréal, The Loop Duty Free carries amazing gift ideas for dad (and yourself — you deserve the splurge, no?) and as always, prices are minimum 25% less than downtown retailers with the exception of MAC at 15% less, and no tax (insert a happy dance here). Like I said at the top: no excuse to NOT pick something up!
TIP: travellers can also pre-order their purchases through The Loop’s website, then simply show up, pay & go!
Stay tuned to be “in The Loop” as I continue to explore this amazing store!
